SEC19 W2: "This Is Our Style"

The topic of family style is somehow strange for some, but for me and my family, it's a defining feature and something we wear with pride. When I thought about my family’s style a few key traits and characteristics came to my mind, and I will share them with you today.

We are committed and dedicated to one another in my family, and this is one of the most important things that define us. I grew up in a family where there was a great emphasis placed on the family unit I was taught to be diligent and always support my siblings and other members of the family. My siblings and I were raised to love and support one another in everything, be it home activities like house chores, shared it, sporting events, spending time together, or any other thing we were always there for one another and ready to work together to make things happen.

I am fortunate to have the same kind of man, who is supportive, diligent, and committed to the core! So the strong sense of loyalty and supporting spirit still define my own family today it’s one of our defining characteristics. I'm instilling these characteristics in my children too, always looking for the interest of their siblings and family. As young as they may be, they always stand up for one another and support themselves.

Another of my family styles is showing deep appreciation for both little things and big ones, and we are contented with what we have, these two qualities contributed greatly to our happiness. We deeply appreciate the gift of life and nature, beauty is everywhere we normally take time to appreciate the things around us, the stars, the sky, the moon beautiful flowers, and animals. We appreciate education too, learning is a continuous process so in our family, we emphasize the importance of education and hard work. I want my kids to grow up with a strong love of learning because readers are leaders.

Most important of all my family style is characterized by a strong sense of humor and lightheartedness. We laugh a lot and enjoy making the most out of any situation. There's never a dull moment in our household, we can gist, yap, and shout for Africa, always finding ways to have fun and entertain ourselves. This sense of lightness and humor has helped us to be resilient and strong during difficult times. So many people used to think that we don't have a problem, haha that's because we are always smiling and less complaining, always keep things in perspective we don't take ourselves too seriously in the grand scheme of things.

Lastly, we are adventurous, we love wearing matching clothes so that people will know that we are a family, we always eat together at least once a day, after all, it is said the family who eats together stays together forever!

Overall, I would say that our family style is defined by unconditional love, respect, and commitment, we love learning we are grateful beings, and our lighthearted sense of humor is top-notch. We are always there for one another. All these beautiful characters shaped us individually and guided us forward as we navigated life together. I'm grateful and blessed to have my family and I know that our style will continue to shape and define us in beautiful ways in the years to come.
