Introduction

Kudos to @shiftitamanna for organizing this very thoughtful contest. I also want to appreciate my friends @ogechukwu-martha and @patudoh for inviting me to participate in this contest.

Education is the bedrock of every society. An educated society is an impactful society filled with people of great wisdom and knowledge. Education at every level and for everyone is very important. Gone are the days when educating women was seen as a waste of time and resources, a time when women were seen as just cooks, caregivers and cleaners in the home, meant for just house chores, giving birth and taking care of children.

✅ How do you see the empowerment of women through education?

The empowerment of women is a welcome development, it is a very beautiful initiative, and it is worth it because no society experiences good development without education.

A careful look at our society today, you will find women having a voice because they know their rights and duties, and what they desire or expect out of life.

✅ In this case, do women face any obstacles?

Yes, many women still face the challenges of standing out in certain areas, like in:

  • Standing for elections or being appointed to some political offices

  • Making outstanding waves in some certain professions dominated by men previously

  • Being seen as "weaker vessels" that can not do some certain things etc.

✅ What is the effect of education on women?

Education has brought a real reawakening to women, it is liberation for women.

  • It has brought women into light to explore and impact their God's given wisdom and knowledge on our society. Of course, we know that women are great thinkers and "solutionists" as I would love to call them.
  • Women being empowered through education has given women great recognition, not just as women but as vessels loaded with great abilities and impact.
  • Through education, most women are no longer relegated to just housewives, "baby-making machines" and caregivers, they are standing out in different professions and making waves in some of the so-called "men-dominated" carriers.

  • Gender equality is well established through education because women have been exposed to discovering themselves.

✅ What do you think can be the initiatives and programs to empower education through women?

  • Free and compulsory education is a good initiative to empower women.
  • Schools should be made safe for the "girl child."
  • Abuse and other factors challenging the girl child's education should be targeted and sorted out.
  • Support for poor families should be made available by the government to enable them see the need to send their female children to school instead of settling them for early marriage as a means of eradicating poverty.
Conclusion

I would have been a victim, but I stood it tall, I encouraged myself knowing I can't be denied education. I scaled through it, every girl/woman out there can make it too.

Educate the girl child, educate the nation!

You are right that education is the bedrock of every society, and as such education has given most women their voices, to speak and stand up for their rights; even in our society today many women are seen in big political positions and offices it is education that made that possible. Success to you my friend you've written well
