Contest: Women's Favourite Work

Which work do women like to do the most?
In most countries of the world, with some exceptions, women today can do all the jobs they want and for which they are qualified. However, based on women of all ages I know, I find some recurring works:
- Teacher
- Nurse, doctor, dentist
- Waitress, cook, pastry chef
- Employed in the office
- Shop assistant
- Policewoman/traffic officer
- Seamstress, decorator, crafter
- Caregiver and babysitter
Some of these work as entrepreneurs, especially in the restaurant and craft sectors.
These jobs are the ones that women do most often in my small town in the southern Italian province. Ours is an area where many people emigrate to work especially towards Rome or Milan, or abroad, and women are no exception, sometimes to do jobs such as engineers, architects, journalists, assistants flight, or to work in the entertainment world.
So I would say that women don't have a favorite job, but they can succeed in all fields.
At the same time most women are capable of a great adaptability and are actively committed to work, even when the conditions are not good and the job is not what they had dreamed of.
The role of the housewife
I know women who decide to stay at home to take care of their children without doing other jobs, even if there aren't many among young women. Motherhood is considered the most beautiful and difficult job in the world, and I can't say much about it.
That of the housewife is a precise profession that is not paid but which can save the family a lot of money. In my country there is a lot of discussion about this because there was a phase in which many women absolutely did not want to stay at home, it was like a real escape, to establish themselves personally and professionally.
However, in recent years inflation is very high and salaries are always the same, many women are wondering if it's worth doing any job they don't love, only to have to pay nursery and babysitting and see their children a few hours a day.
It's not an easy decision, but some women decide to raise children to spend more time with them and be able to follow them directly instead of delegating to others. Then when the children reach adolescence, they start working again.
It used to be really hard to find work after the age of 35 – 40, now things are slowly changing and I know women who have entered the world of work even further. They are especially in the cases of entrepreneurship and online work.
Women and online work
In my city I only know one woman who, like me, works online as a freelance, she is an illustrator. Or at least she's the only one I know in person because clearly I've met a lot of them online.
Lately, I was talking to one of them about the fact that the digital sector and the internet give everyone many opportunities, and as far as women are concerned, they allow us to break down many gender differences in terms of earnings and position.
Furthermore, online work allows you to work from all over the world and therefore allows women who cannot leave the house for various reasons or who have children to look after to enter the world of work.
How do women take out time from their daily routine to do what they love?
The daily routine can be overwhelming, especially during the week. Furthermore, in addition to work, you have to manage all the things to do at home, including the family.
However I think women need to make time to see friends and other people outside of work and family, to do things they love. Go to the gym, have a coffee, go to the hairdresser or even go for a walk or read a book in peace.
Now that I'm an adult and approaching 50, I find it very difficult to meet friends because we are all busy with our lives. Yet every so often we manage to meet just to talk for half an hour and that time is very precious.
There are friends I met at school that I only see once a year! Yet when we meet it is as if time has stopped, and even if we have completely different lives, families and jobs, the relationship between us is always the same and we understand each other quickly, we can talk about anything, even when we have different opinions .
But it's also nice to meet new people and create new interests at any age, which is why finding some time to get out of the daily routine is essential to feel good, relieve stress and recover energy.
This time has to be found in some way, you have to do everything to find some time away from work and commitments every once in a while.
Are women bored doing their favorite work?
I wouldn't say that women are bored when they are doing their favorite job.
Maybe sometimes they can get angry if something goes wrong! Many years ago it was something I found strange, but over time I realized that it is precisely in the works that you find interesting and that you like that the emotional involvement is greater, so it is difficult to remain indifferent or let it go.
Furthermore, once a female superior of mine explained to me that if she was too sweet and kind she was irreparably bypassed or they didn't listen to her. She was a very firm and authoritarian woman, even if never arrogant, she was very cultured and prepared and she had impressed me a lot.
She had told me that the workplace was not made to be sweet and delicate, that while remaining kind, one always had to demonstrate one's worth and make sure that one was indispensable and irreplaceable. And this was even more important for a woman.
At the same time I learned that a woman can use kindness to her advantage and achieve a lot when working with clients. Years ago when I was working with grumpy and obnoxious clients, I panicked, and once again a female boss came to my rescue and taught me how to deal with them. She was incredibly kind, but she never gave in, in the end the customers always said yes and did as she asked, sometimes they even apologized!
I would say that if women get bored at work, it's because they're not doing a job they love, or they're in an environment that's not stimulating. Otherwise women like to take up challenges!

I read your post and I cannot help to think how awesome women are. Like you’ve said, we can do anything.
For me, it is important that women play a vital role in society as well, not just at home. It is important for her as a person and also for the growth of communities and countries.
In my eyes, boredom in a woman is nowhere to be seen.
