Special greetings to my steemian family Today I @deelyt would love to participate in this contest as organized by @patjewell. Thank you ma'am for allowing us make choices even as we write. For this contest, I choose to write a short fictional story about "believe", especially believing in Oneself.

What is Believe?

Believing is the confidence someone has in an ability, someone or something. The two important personalities I believe in are God and myself. This is because, after God, I am my biggest fan. I have been very conscious of this identity because I am all I have got, so I cannot afford to stop believing in myself. Believing in myself is one of the best gifts I can give myself success, because it is the foundation of my personal growth and success. It is also the beginning to build my dreams and accomplish visions.

Story Story!!

Once upon a time in a beautiful green forest, there was a mother eagle who had an eaglet named Betty. Betty was tiny, timid, and a bald creature with twinkling eyes that was always full of curiosity. On the other hand, Betty's mother, whose name was Barbara, had self-confidence which was unwavering. She had the most beautiful and silkiest feathers our world could ever see. Her body was well shaped and covered with brown feathers and her eyes were huge and brown, which could capture the best of pictures and images. Betty loved the way her mother could fly very high in the sky, soar in the storm, fight snakes and kill them off, but she (Betty) was always scared and unsure of herself.

One of the days, Betty asked her mother, Mama, how do you fly so high? Babara smiled and replied," My lovely Betty, you must have confidence in your ability. Believe that what you want is possible because your mind is such a powerful instrument, and it can deliver everything you want through the power of positive expectation. Really?? Betty asked with eyes widened curiously. Betty's mum continued, no matter how bad the storm is, sunshine always breaks through it, so first overcome self-doubt and embrace the challenges so that you can unlock your potential, thereby inspiring others. She added," I know you will always make me proud.
That night Betty had a dream. She wanted to soar like her mother so that she could touch the beautiful skies, but fear would not let her leave her nest. Barbara had enough of Betty sitting in the nest and getting fed, so she removed all her comfortable feathers and twigs off Betty's nest. She made sure that Betty was not fed in the nest for days, so that she (Betty) could learn to flap her wings (Betty was feeling unloved).
After many days of making Betty uncomfortable, one day Barbara nudged her young one to the edge of the nest (while reminding her of believing in herself). She calmly waited for the wind and nudged her off the nest. Barbara shouted with the wind, "Whatever you believe you can achieve"
The young eaglet was shaken and uncertain "she screeched" and finally said," I believe I can fly". Mother eagle shouted, then spread her wings. Betty obeyed immediately and suddenly spread her wings and flew but unsteadily as she crashed, and mother eagle had to help her to land safely.

Betty started to doubt her dream and her ability to fly like her mother. Just then she heard her mother encouraging her the more. Betty was encouraged as Barbara told her that everyone falls but what matters is, they did not remain there, but we get up and try again.

Soon Betty was becoming a pro because each time she falls, she gets up filled with new determination, and finally she was able to soar, touching the sky.

Betty had learned never to give up on her dreams, and she advises us with this words, "Never give up on yourself, believe in yourself, have courage and determination". Believe, you can be anything you want to be!!
