Hi Ladies!
Warm greetings from my part of the world, I must sincerely appreciate your presence on my blog and also appreciate the effort put together to read through my blog. A very special thanks to this community for their tireless efforts put in place at all times to see steemians busy as to earn from their effort and hardwork as well. A huge thanks to you ma'am @patjewell its indeed a great previlledge to be a participant in this wonderful contest. So friends, feel relaxed and comfortable as you read through to know more about my choice.
A Soldier.
I had dreams of becoming a soldier right from my childhood. I grew up in a village whereby whenever we see soldiers we get frightened because of our mentality towards them. Funny enough, we do not l see soldiers as friends at all, we see them as enemies who has come to shoot or kill humans not knowing that a soldier is a security officer who guides and secure the lives of people of his nation.
I had dreams of becoming a soldier because I want to frightened people and put fears in them whenever I am getting close. After my secondary school, I applied once but my name wasn't shortlisted for the training but immediately I wrote jamb I passed immediately and today, im a a teacher and not a soldier 😊
Who is a soldier?
A soldier is a security officer who is saddled with the responsibility of securing the nation, a soldier is same as being called an Army officer. This is how they look in my part of the world, they are always on uniforms especially when they are on duty, ready for any unexpected visit or attack from their opponents. Soldiers surrendered their lives to the nation either death or alive the are always ready for battles.
A soldier fights for his people with his last breath, they are trained to be fighters and savers of lives but at some point, they become victims of such circumstances. I salute every security personnel because their lives are at risk but they don't mind at all, they stand for their nation, they stand still to fight for peace of the nation.
Alot of soldiers do not return home to see their families again whenever they go for peace keeping in another place. In Nigeria, places like Maiduguri, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Plateau state are not at peace, soldiers will be sent immediately to make sure there is peace in the state. Most times, when the attackers comes at night, the soldiers might be victims of death.
A soldier is always ready for the war. He gets his gun loaded with bullets, get his helmet, bullet proof, the war shoes and his face covered ready fir war. Some soldiers are taken to the road to check every car to make sure everyone is secured in tge car. Soldier are the best and trusted security officers who do not take bribe anyhow, a soldier is a no go area uniform man that would sell his nation for some money except for few but not all.
Is soldier a risky career?
I am a single lady but I have sworn never to marry a soldier because I know what is involved when you marry a soldier. I know quiet sure that a soldier has a lot of restrictions from the family which will not be comfortable with that.
Look, being a soldier is a very risky career and that is why people get scared of becoming soldiers of their country. My country Nigeria has become a stress to youths and because of the unemployment in the country, alot of youths rush into becoming soldiers because they want a living. Personally, I am not ready to loss anyone in my family so I do not advice anyone who is not strong enough to go into an army Job.
In conclusion, who then should be a soldier? A soldier should be a man or a woman who is ever ready to fight for his nation. Going to be a soldier because of lack of Job opportunities is going to be a very bad one because people with somuch fear can join to become soldiers and therefore run from their responsibility which will lead to loss of lives.

I don't see soldiers as protectors of the people. They have to follow orders without questioning. If they tell you to jump the only question is asking how high! It's a hard training and the average soldier just do and shoots as ordered. Nothing more, nothing less.
With us it is a secure job (all govrrnmental jobs are) well paid, trainings, school, diver's licenses for free and the best place to be if you are a bully or narcissist, rapist or thief.
A part of my family was in the military service just like being a cop you are rarely liked and those heroes from back then are called traitors today. :(
