Choices! What will it be? #54
Doves are all part of the Columbidae family of birds, which symbolizes peace and good luck in many cultures. There are over 300 species in the bird family found all over the world.
Doves are amazing animals, and their capacity to find their way home over hundreds or even thousands of kilometers is unspeakable. These acts have made them stand out and have been used in delivering messages to royalty, military leaders, and other notable figures during wartime.
In the Bible, doves represent a spirit that descended on Jesus during his baptism. The spirit chose to come in the form of a dove because a dove represents so many good things. Its color shows how pure and peaceful the dove is. I have never seen a dove engaged in a fight with other birds, and I wonder, does a dove fight? Do they get angry at all? Or maybe they are always happy.
The female dove almost lays two eggs at a time; although possible, it is very rare to lay one egg. Doves are prolific breeders; the female dove has been known to reach sexual maturity after 7 months. Eggs are typically laid 8–12 days after mating, which then hatch after an additional 18 days. This simply means a pair of doves can have up to nine broods in a year. Wow! In captivity, pigeons often live up to 30 years of age.
In the Columbidae family, both the male and female produce milk for their young ones. Their milk is called "crop milk," which contains a higher level of protein and fats than the milk produced by mammals. Doves are so adaptive to any kind of environment, which is why they survive in any kind of weather or place.
"A Dove Story"
Once upon a time...
The ant was on a tour in the forest. After a long walk, the ant became thirsty and searched for a place to drink water but found none. He continued walking until he came across a river bank and said, "Oh now, I can finally have water to drink."
He moved close to the river, and as he bent to drink water, he mistakenly slipped into the river and was carried away by the water force.
The ant cried, "Oh no, how do I get out of here? Somebody help me!" but no one could help him, and he kept crying for help.
Suddenly, there was a dove flying around the shore. The dove noticed that the ant needed help and threw a leaf into the river for the ant to climb on. The ant was so happy to have received help from a dove.
"Thank you so much for saving me, my friend, said the ant!"
"I'm glad I could help, replied the dove, softly."
From this story, I just sensed humility, love, care, gentleness and passion coming from the dove. It does not think only for himself but for others. I think a dove place others first before themselves.
Have you ever come across two doves sitting together? It symbolizes love, peace, and fidelity. The first day I saw them right in front of my building, I watched from afar to understand why they were together. I didn't get the clear picture of why they had sat there, but after some findings, I clearly understood what I saw.
The dove is just a carrier of peace, love, and calmness. I always love to have them around me because they don't make a noise like other birds. It's always gentle and easy-going.
Doves are also kept as pets and I must tell you, they are wise and clever.
I wish to invite @pandora2010 @ninapenda @aviral123
Hi, friend.
It is a pleasure to read a contribution from a gentleman who, from what I could read, is also romantic and likes happy endings. I can imagine the ant's emotion when he saw that he was saved by a dove.
Thanks for the invitation.
Success.
Many blessings..🙏🏻
