MTN Rice, my local delicious delicacy.

• What is the name of your best dish? Share steps in preparing it.

Am so much endeared to MTN Rice. MTN Rice is my local way of cooking rice. Hardly, my week runs out without meeting me with MTN rice at least twice.

My favorite dish had a simple steps as shown below;

🌺 Rice 🌺 Red oil 🌺 Maggi 🌺Pepper 🌺 Onion 🌺 Vegetable 🌺 Crayfish 🌺 Egg 🌺 Salt

  • Use a little salt and wash the rice 2-3times. Put water and turn inside a pot, light the gas and parboil the rice for 20minute.

  • Remove the pot from fire, use filter and drain the water out. Pour cool water thoroughly around the rice to rinse the rice and give you a nice white look.

  • Rinse the pot or use a different pot and pour in the wash rice. Pound or blend crayfish and add in the pot. Slice onions inside, pepper, salt, Maggi, red oil, water, Stir and have a taste.

Place the pot on fire and allow it to boil until the water dried off.

  • Wash the vegetable very well, slice and set aside. Check the pot, the water has dry off, add the slice vegetables, stir it gently from both sides and off the light.

  • Wash the egg and boil for 15minute, then with the egg, make a eye catching meal.

• Is cooking a dangerous activity, yes/No? Explain.

Well, many people out there are still finding difficult to make cooking their friend.

Cooking is one of the best activity that makes an individual to be proud of herself/himself. I love cooking, I enjoy doing it. To me, is not a dangerous activity because since cooking is something I love doing, am familiar with the kitchen environment, so it will not be easy for me to get hurt.

Right inside the kitchen, I know anything can happen but as someone who is exposed to it, I will be very careful to handle any process with caution and be cautious of what am doing.

Whereas it can be dangerous activity to those who are afraid to get close to cooking. Since they don't want to involve in cooking, something dangerous can happen to them any day they find themselve in the kitchen trying to cook without any direction.

• How often do you cook? Do you mostly cook breakfast, lunch or dinner?

As a nursing mother who will not be able to spend money and buy outside food that might not satisfy her because of how economy is or stay without eating anything, cooks everyday. I can't recall the last day I stop making breakfast. Yes oo, breakfast is important and it is Paramount, I must eat.

For lunch, mostly I go for fruit or snacks because I know, going back home after day work, I will have a nice dinner to enjoy and feel better of myself.

• Explain 5 practical kitchen rules you observe in your kitchen.

My five kitchen rules

  1. The first rule I observed in my kitchen is to go straight to where washing sink is and wash my hands with soap and running water before starting any preparation.

  2. I will gather all my choice meal that am about to prepare, set or close before the preparation can start.

  3. Once the preparation begin, I will avoid moving from one point to another or rushing in to the kitchen or out in order not to cause any causality.

  4. Unnecessary discussions is highly prohibited by me to avoid saliva penetrating in my food and to give full concentration, focusing to bring out a nice meal.

  1. Leaving the kitchen unkept after preparation is not accepted by me, as it is not an healthy life living. Above all, I apply total carefulness in whatsoever am doing while in the kitchen.

In conclusion: Kitchen is a place where food are prepared, therefore, try to make kitchen a second paradise (neat and clean) always, make what is normally perform in the kitchen(cooking) to be the best friend you can easily have fun with and make those who love your best friend(cooking) enjoys your friendship.

MTN rice as the name implies have MTN colour😃 I wonder who gave it that name, I love eating this rice too, in short I could remember that it was what my mum loves cooking then and it makes me love it till today, some people also think that this type of rice is for the poor, but it is one of the most nutritional meal.

That MTN rice looks really good. I usually enjoy this dish when it has lots of pepper and fishes in it.
