Enjoying little joys of life in an ordinary day.

When I woke up today i felt irritation in my throat and nose. I kept on sneezing yesterday which is the sign of the arrival of flue. My best friend's wedding is after two days and sickness comes to spoil every wedding meal.

After praying Fajar and doing my breakfast i went to the rooftop to check if there is any sunlight. I found only dim sunrays and smog on the horizon. It's the smog which is causing more sore throats and flue among the people.

Pakistan's 2nd largest city Lahore is the 2nd most effected city in the world with smog. We can't see our cities clearly in the morning and evening due to smog.

Seeing this unnatural disaster, Pakistani govt has decided to close the schools this weekend to minimise the traffic on the roads.

It was impossible to walk there so i just wander for a couple of minutes. I saw corn crop on the rooftop of our neighbours. They had covered it with plastic so that it doesn't get wet at night. They have spread the crop to let it get dry under the sunlight.

• First they removed the outer covering of the corn which is called husk.
• Then they kept it under the Sun for a few days.
• Now they are filling the corn in the sacs, only a small portion of the crop is left undone.

Corn crop is used to make corn flour which is commonly used to make bread in winters. It's eaten with Mustard/Saag.

You can eat them after boiling, also used as a seed for the next crop.

After watering my baby plants of marigold i went down stairs because smog is too smelly and dangerous to roam in.

I took my morning tea, my side table is little messy, it's always filled with books and dry/fresh flowers. And that shield in the background is not mine, it belongs to my brother who have won it in his university, for writing a short story on a Palestinian child.

I'm a Gajra lover, it's known as bangles of flowers, my sister get it from her university. However when she got home i took it and put it around my arm, it finally lays on my side table. Their fragrance is heavenly when you are sick.

If a girl doesn't love gajras/flowers bangles, i don't know what she is doing with her life.

In the afternoon, i got my book order from readings.pk. I purchased 10 fiction books on sale, there prices were too cheap, but their page quality is excellent. I can blindly order books from them.

If a person is fiction lover and gets her books for the winter season on time, what else can you want from life.

Sunlight was pretty much in abundance so shifted my plants to the side wall where there is direct sunlight.

Look at the yellow beauty, isn't it the charm of life, also i painted those pots yellow.

These are the little joys of life that i enjoy and thank Almighty for it.
