The Diary Game – #23: Share your day with us; 17/1/24 | My day out at the missions field making impact in people’s life.

Greetings and welcome to my blog on a beautiful Wednesday which I had last week been the 18th of January in our lords years 2024. Before I take you on this ride, may I invite @presh07 and @divinelife and @ruthjoe to participate in this contest.

The year has been a very impactful one so far and as a matter of fact it’s been lined up with back to back activities and this particular day wasn’t left out. It’s a day of impact for me. It’s a special day as it had me in the missions field in Ken sarowiwa polytechnic in Rivers state Nigeria reaching out to the students in ways impactful.

We arrived at the school that morning and was in the classroom talking to the students about a seminar we fixed for them which was geared towards helping them learn some principles they would apply to their academics that would help them excel in their studies.

A lot of polytechnic students are battling with serious academic issues and these are mainly because of their academic background in their secondary schools. Their poor academic foundation affects them in higher education. So the essence of the seminar is to teach them some principles on how to read and understand, what to read , when to read and where to read.

The seminar began by 3pm in the afternoon and the students were very eager to learn. As a matter of fact, before 3pm, the hall was already filled that we had to go to a bigger hall and there were over 350 students in attendance. One of my colleagues Dr Ben took a part of the seminar while I took the second part. She took the academic part where he taught them the principles and they were really learning from him.

I came up around past 4pm and took them in another segment of the seminar where we discussed real life situations and things that affects students other than then things they learn on the white board. It was very interactive and impactful. The meeting lingered till about 6pm then we closed for the day and scheduled for the next day.

When we finished, a lot of the students had personal questions to ask, they came to me one after another to lay their challenges and I was most glad to help and also give them fire on how to go about solving their academic challenges to which they were willing to implement. I and my team were in the school environment till about 7pm. When we finished, we headed home.

We got home around past 8pm, it was a tiring day but we were exhausted but glad that we could make so much impact in lives that day. We ate White rice and stew with fried plaintain. We had our bath and retired for the day. It was a good and fulfilling day for us all.
