Marriage is a beautiful thing when you are with the right person☺️. And Singlehood is a blessing too.

What do you enjoy most during this singlehood time?

Singlehood is a huge blessing. Everybody passes through this phase , before they become married. Singlehood is a time to invest in oneself, a time to discover one's purpose and begin to walk in it, and a time of preparation for marital life.

I enjoyed the fact that I have ample time to myself, to do things I need to do, go for courses and programs that I may need to travel for days, without being bothered. I enjoyed reading books, doing things that add value to myself, like taking a course, learning some soft skills.

Do you think being single limits someone from big things in life?

Being single may limits someone from big things in life. For instance, some organization believes marriage makes a man responsible. So if he isn't married, he won't be entrusted with certain responsibilities that comes with good rewards. Marriage paves way for people. I learnt a certain true life story one of my pastors shared that a particular woman opened access for her children and grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to become residents of USA.

As long as a man or woman is legally married into their family, that man or woman automatically benefits from the generational access. All that the children,grandchildren, great-grandchildren of the grandmother's lineage including their wives and husbands had to do was process their visa and passport, and they all travelled together at once, they were about 40 that moved down to the US in a day.

Have you ever wished to be married?

At a sister's wedding

Yes a couple of times, I have. When I see beautiful couples with their kids, it makes wishing to be married. I have some couples that inspires me by their marriage: Pastor Obie and Juliet Jason ( pastors at church) , Pastor Kingsley & Pastor Mildred Okonkwo (relationship ministers , they have a channel on YouTube), Mrs Vivian and her husband (@VIC church, it's beautiful seeing them worship with their two kids) and a host of others.

So far, have you learned any lessons from singlehood?

Yes , I have learnt a good deal of lessons from Singlehood.

One is that Singlehood is a phase to shapen one's character, working on those flaws to become better, building on one's strength, cause the best gift you can give your partner when you marry is the better person you have become through personal development: becoming kinder, wiser, money-smarter, more versatile, more disciplined, more spiritual, more diligent etc. This way you can contribute better and add value to the marriage.

Also, Singlehood is a time to be grateful to God for. It is a foundation for the life in marriage. I learnt to spend this phase wisely ,cause, it's like the bedrock for marital life. Another lesson I've learnt is that people like to be honoured. Regardless of their status , when you honour people, it gives them an open mind and they also honour you back in return.

Both Singlehood and marriage are blessings in its own. The former precedes the later, and it largely determines the success of the other own. We should be grateful for our Singlehood and be more prepared for the marriage life.
