Greetings , fellow ladies, how are you guys doing today?, I hope you guys are doing great, I'm really excited to be part of this amazing contest. TODAY I will be sharing with you guys on how to cook Oha soup.

About oha soup

Oha soup is a very popular traditional soup in Igbo land, it is made with combination of ingredients such as oha leaves, ogili, palm oil, Maggi, crayfish, stock, dry and ice fish, meat , cocoyam, pepper etc, it is very delicious, it can be enjoy with any of swallow be it akpu, garri , semovita and Eba etc

The ingredients I used in cooking oha soup

Oha leaves,
Cocoyam,
Pepper,
Dry fish,
Ice fish,
Palm oil,
Cray fish,
Ogili,
Maggi and salt for taste,
and Water.

Step in cooking oha soup

★Firstly, wash and remove the oha leaves from the stem, you can also cut the leaves into pieces if you want.

★Wash the cocoyam very well make sure there no sand attached to it. Put it inside a pot and add the quatity of water needed , then set the pot on fire 🔥. "Cook the cocoyam until it is soft".

★Pand the cocoyam until it is soft and has no balls, then put it inside your cooking pot, add the quatity of water needed for cooking the soup and set the pot on fire.

★Cook it for like five minutes and start adding other ingredients.
(Note : the cocoyam is responsible for thickening the soup)

★Add your meat and fish inside, also add your palm oil , cover the pot and allow it to dissolve completely. You can stir the soup to know if there is any cocoyam cubes that hasn't dissolve.

★Add other ingredients Maggi, pepper, ogili, crayfish and salt. Also remember to taste the soup after putting salt to avoid making your soup salty.

★Cover and cook for 15 minutes.

★Add the oha Leaves and gently stir to combine with the ingredients.

★Allow the soup to boil for another 5 minutes or until the oha leaves are cooked.
Taste the soup and ajust seasonings if there is any need.

★Your oha soup is now ready to be served, you can enjoy it with any swallow of your choice. Eba ,garri , semovita , akpu and rest of them

Oha soup has many benefits to our health due to it's nutritious ingredients.

• Oha soup is rich in protein, the meat, fish, and crayfish used in the soup contains proteins, which is responsible for building and repairing tissues in the body and it also support growth.

• It is also rich in minerals and viamins, oha leaves are very rich in minerals and viamins, this class of food contribute to our overall health and wellness.

• It aid digestion and support heart health, the ogili and palm oil used in making the soup contains healthy oil, which helps in reducing bad cholesterols and support heart health.
