Very enjoyable read @tarazkp. Control over one's own actions is simply knowing that in most situations you have a choice to make. By not making a choice, usually the choice is made for you, and that is when we loose control.
To be caught asleep at the wheel is not where I expect to find myself when the pending collapse catches so many others off guard.
Some people wait til they don't have the room to make a decision and then, say they had no choice.
