Very interesting story about how the Germans were trying to pull his country into the War!
Boris III met Hitler on a number of occasions and witnesses recall a lot of anger and heat Hitler put on the Tsar to comply. He knew what happened to neighboring Poland and various other countries can happen to Bulgaria too so he'd rather endure allied bombing than that of the Germans.
I'm sure Boris believed have been shot anytime by Hitler himself as Bulgaria's alliance was merely symbolic.
High Inflation, you know how governments pay off unpayable debt. 📉
