Token, Tribes and possible Benefits

in SteemLeo4 years ago

Like many other people sitting home being under some kind of quarantine, I'm trying to use this given time to learn more about tokens, tribes and possible benefits. However I figured out that a lot of other people even don't know whats the clue behind all of these 'new' opportunities. And the #hive is passing by as well...

Of cource I could use the internet and wasting some time to hopefully get my wished answers. But if you dont know, where and how exactly to look for, it is quite a struggle.

I came across of an articel of @livinguktaiwan pointing out of possible benefits from tokens or tribes. (Post? Here). Until then, I didnt think much about adding tribes or other tokens as a tag of my posts. I didn't think about possbile benefits by posting the same article by tagging dblog or similar. Until then my mindset still was busy using tags like on instagram without any big deal behind it, besides attracting interest and building up followers.

Tribe token

So for now, I think it is consequential using tags of tribes e.g. Steemleo, Palnet, Dblog. Because you get for one post different tokens instead of only Steem. But what next?
What happens if I would keep all these tokens staked? If, there is a proof of stake, how much tokens do I have to stake and what would be the result? Does it even make sense to stake all of these tokens? Where can I find needed information to answer my questions?

Is there another way posting on all possible frontends without using tags?

And then, each frontend got there own 'topics.' SteemLeo or PALnet should be used for financial content. Other frontends like Marlians accept all content-types. Where can you find this headline topic, if its not pointed out like on Marlians? Does it even matter, where you post?

Tokens in general

I want to start with a perfect example how easy it can be. Token #BEER. Someone comment your post with !BEER and you get another comment from @beerlover with a link to a simple post explaining how it works. Isn't it simple?

But sadly other tokens aren't that easy or I only can't find such a simple explanation how other tokens work. There are a bunch tokens I would love to use, like !CC or !trdo but therefore you need a certain amount of those token staked. So I only can hope someone will leave me such a 'tag' or I have to head over to SE for at least buying some of them. But how much do I need? And what are the final benefits? What happens if I keep them staked, how much tokens I will automated generate per day?

For now, I just want to keep it short. I hope that people can help me to find an answer for all my question on my head. I would appreciate your help a lot.

What tokens or tribes do you prefer?

I love that you mention those tokens! It's a mess. However, it's freedom as well. Any token has it's own ecosystem. I first loved #palnet for taking the lead and still do, whilst never ever applying anything with it. From my perspective its motivation has been to add to the possibilities of just hanging around with the whales.

While with !BEER it is a completely different concept. There's no exclusive front-end but the intention to maybe some day having a demand that makes one coin worth a real beer. And regardless of whether this is going to be achieved it's fun to play with it.

Another one I love is !invest_vote And this is not even a token - so basically we are talking bots here. It's a Steem community that enables plankton to add up a reward to $ 0.02 for reaching payout, especially with comments. So we see another creative approach to level the field without asking for permission.

And now we even have Hive. So yes, it's a mess. But it's fun to explore. And it grows organically and not like a planned economy. That's what I love the most!

In my point of view, I love it that each front-end has its own ecosystem, but at any point you need to figure out whats the benefit of it. Like i mentioned, for each post you get some coins or tokens or howsoever anyone is willing to name it. This is a pretty simple part, because every platform is doing pretty much the same, the worth of those tokens is on another hand.

Furthermore, like you mentioned, #palnet gives you the opportunity to work with their tokens on steem-engine (SE) or even staking it. But what is your benefit of staking it? And therefore you should find any documentation about it, otherwise why should you do it? Where is the proof of stake?

Tokens caused by a bot is pretty much the same, you can (only??) call them to give something when you reach a certain amount of there token. Like !beer (hopefully it will work) needs at least 6 BEER token staked to give you a sip of beer. But this is something you can find out. What about !invest_vote (here the same, hopefully it will work)? How much token staked do you need to call it?

Nevertheless, I love the complexity of all this, but somehow or at least at some point it would be much easier, if some other token creator would follow the example of @detlev and making it more transparent.

True, documentation is a big issue. On the other hand community is everything. From my perspective this is part of going decentralized. There is no central entity and everyone's free to add to it. If you want to know something, and you don't know how or where to read the code, ask someone.

For @investinthefutur and mentioning !invest_vote there's no stake needed. I have been invited and answered the calling. @investinthefutur is looking after it whether there is some misuse, but to the time being everyone who is involved is gentle. It's even designed for multiple people curating on a single post or comment (via @voinvote, @voinvote2, @voinvote3, @voinvote4) and up to now there is no restriction. Everyone who is involved can call for it without limit - as long as voting power is available for those accounts. That's kind of a documentation, is it?

So everyone's invited to do some documentation. And nothing is cast in concrete.

Looking forward to having some !BEER together.

(cross commenting on Hive, this is Steem here)

@andrepol denkt du hast ein Vote durch @investinthefutur verdient! ----> Wer ist investinthefutur ?
@andrepol thinks you have earned a vote of @investinthefutur !----> Who is investinthefutur ?
