Palm Sunday: It's Significance (100% power up)

Palm Sunday also known as the triumphant entrance is an important part of being a Christian. It is a day that commerates the joyful entry of the Son of the Most High: Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.(Matthew 21:1-11). The palm leaves spread on the floor with shouting of “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!” denotes the presence of a Noble, The Almighty, A King.

This entrance was in fulfilment to the prophetic declaration of Zechariah which were proclaimed in Zechariah 9:9
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Palm Sunday is a reminder of Jesus suffering, death, and resurrection, that he was going to suffer and die on the cross for our sins, and be resurrected three days later. Before all these could be achieved,he had to make a historical entrance that would be celebrated yearly world wide. The entrance made the crowd to acknowledge and proclaim him as the King of kings. He was publicly honoured

This was the first time celebrating Jesus Christ publicly in his time. It wasn't about Him teaching or performing miracles.

The triumphant entrance is also significant for the as it marks the ending of Jesus Ministry on the earth. It was after this glorious day that Judas betrayed him, leading to his crucifixion on the Cross of Calvary.

As we celebrate Him today, we should bear in mind that God left the biggest legacy on earth. We should learn to abide by his laws and live a guilt-free life.
