About the Business

The business of SAVVY STORES has being in existence for three years now. But looking at the business it will be as if it has been in a existence for a decade or over. But the question is , what makes the business grow this big within a very short period? Guess the answer ___, "Proper management". The business didn't start as a very big business as it is today. Initially, they opened two stores. One at the right hand side and one at the opposite. So the had two stores at both lanes of the road. Due to road expansion, one of the stores was affected and since the goods inside this store that you see here were not many enough to filled the store, they moved the good from the affected store to this one. Even after transferring goods from the other store to this one, the goods didn't still filled the store. Another question is , why did they rent such a big store that even after transferring goods from the other store to this one, there was still space. The answer is, they had plans. The business was established by husband and wife. Mr. Saviour is the husband who is also working with [Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Agriculture Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat](https://what3words.com/cohorts.outfield.thoughtful) While the wife is Mrs. Victoria a business woman. From my findings, the wife Mrs Victoria said she spent almost all her time taking stock and collecting money from customers. She does allow her staff to collect money from customers. They have four dedicated staff who works in the store together with Mrs Victoria. They are three males staff and a female. They all worked from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays they run shifts. Their shop is always open by 6:30am. They open very early when every other shops close to them have not yet resume for business. They close very late when every other stores closes earlier. I believe you can see one of the strategies she uses. Mrs. Victoria also confirm how other competitors sell their goods and try to cut down her own prices, she make it a little cheaper and as such she has more people patronizing her. She also look at the surroundings stores on what goods they don't have and what the customer's highest demands are and concentrate more on that. She made mention of some grains which stays so long without selling it out and as a result, the grains spoil and she never go back to buying such grains even when few customers still request for it. According to her, she doesn't wait until the end of the week or day before she takes stock, she says as customers buy out goods, she is recording it. And when her staff knows that she doesn't joke with her goods and money, they also not joke with it. She also register with companies who gives her direct supplies at a cheaper rate. Currently, she is selling both wholesale and in retail prices. Most people from the area buys from her and retail to thier customers. There are so many things that makes the business to grow so rapidly. She has a lot of goods like:
