INTRODUCTION

Greetings, fellow Steemians.
Welcome to my brand-new blog! It is a privilege to finally be allowed to write in this group for the first time, I must say. A big thank you to our boss @focusnow and my mentor @chichieze. Without further ado, let's get to the subject of today.

Today topic will be about:

  • How should you wash your hands properly?.
  • What tasks should we wash our hands before or after?
  • Why is using liquid soap and running water preferred?
  • What can you do if there isn't any water coming out of the faucet right now?
  • What illnesses can be avoided by frequently washing your hands?
  • Do locals often wash their hands?
  • What can be done to promote hand washing more widely?

How should you wash your hands properly?

  1. ***Pour running water on your hands ***.
  2. Rub soap on your hands to create a lather.
  3. Brush soap beneath your nails, between your fingers, and on the backs of your hands.
  4. Spend at least 20 seconds cleaning your hands. (Require a timer? Chant "I love Jehovah" twice, starting to end😁).
  5. Wash your hands thoroughly with running water that is clean.
  6. Dry your hands with a fresh towel or let them air dry.

What tasks should we wash our hands before or after?

  1. Prior to, during, and after meal preparation.
  2. Both before and after a meal.
  3. Before and after providing at-home medical care for a sick person who is vomiting or having diarrhea.
  4. Before and after a cut or wound has been treated.
  5. Following a bathroom visit.
  6. After performing diaper changes or tidying up a youngster who has urinated.
  7. After sneezing, coughing, or blowing your nose.
  8. After coming into contact with animal manure or animal feed.
  9. Following using pet treats or food.
  10. After handling trash.

Why is using liquid soap and running water preferred?

  • If you put your hands in water that appears dirty, is contaminated (for instance, during an emergency), or has germs in it from previous use, such as a basin with water used for bathing, your hands may become infected. Therefore, I advise washing your hands under fresh, running water. Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if you don't have access to clean, running water to kill germs.

What can you do if there isn't any water coming out of the faucet right now?

  • Even without access to clean, running water or hand sanitizer, you can still wash your hands with clear water to get rid of bacteria. Additionally, you can disinfect water by boiling, adding the right quantity of a disinfectant, like a mild bleach solution, or filtering it.

  • For each outing, plan ahead by bringing bottled water, soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, or disposable moist towelettes in case clean, flowing water is not available where you are going. When at all feasible, wash your hands with soap and purified bottled water, especially before and after handling food. Use wet towelettes or hand sanitizer if you don't have access to soap and water.

  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer; the CDC (Center for Disease Control) advises using products that contain at least 60% alcohol. When using hand sanitizer, make sure all surfaces of your hands are covered with the gel by applying it to the palm of one hand and rubbing your hands together.

What illnesses can be avoided by frequently washing your hands?

  • Handwashing reduces the risk of infection and the spread of disease to others.
Hands are cleaned of germs by washing them with soap. Because people routinely touch their eyes, noses, and mouths without realizing it, this helps avoid infections. Through the mouth, nose, and eyes, germs can enter the body and make us ill
    .
  • Foods and beverages can become contaminated with germs from unwashed hands while being prepared or consumed. Under some circumstances, germs can grow in some meals and beverages and make people ill.
  • Unwashed hands can spread germs to other items like toys, table surfaces, and handrails before spreading to other people's hands.
Therefore, eliminating germs by handwashing helps prevent respiratory infections, diarrhea, and may even help prevent skin and eye diseases
    .

Do locals often wash their hands?

  • Sadly, no, 60% of the people in our region lack access to running water, soap, or antibacterial goods for handwashing. In 45 percent of households, there are no fixed or portable handwashing stations.
  • Children are frequently exposed to these germs by parents who disregard them.
  • Kids can get an infection after coming into contact with germs by touching their eyes, nose, or mouth. And once they are afflicted, it usually only takes a little while for the entire family to contract the same disease.

What can be done to promote hand washing more widely?

  • Place out-of-context reminders in your visual field to make them more noticeable. I advise sticking sticky notes with the message "WASH YOUR HANDS!" at locations where it is customary to wash your hands after participating in an activity there (such as the kitchen, dining room or front door of your house). Or, you could utilize technology to remind you on a regular basis (like the "stand" option on the Apple Watch), or you could set up periodic reminders to remind you to wash your hands.

CONCLUSION

Handwashing reduces the risk of infection and the spread of disease to others.

Parents endeavor to teach your Children how to wash their hands probably, make washing of hands fun for them, by probably placing incentives like sweets in areas where there's faucet or hand washing basing.

The hands are being washed carefully.

When you do not wash your hands, you can spread these germs to others and infect them.

A well-detailed post.

Hand washing helps reduce the chances of getting an infection and spreading it to others. As you have stated, parents have an important role to play. I believe that if they inculcate this in the children from a young age, they will be more likely to practise it throughout their lifetime.

I have learnt alot from this. I will try as much as possible to teach my children how to wash thier hands properly to avoid germs and diseases.
