TOUR OF GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS IN MY CITY- MINNA
INTRODUCTION (History & Location)
This is Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) nicknamed FUT MX is located in Niger State, Nigeria. It was founded in 1983, and the first Vice-Chancellor was Professor J.O. Ndagi who served from 1983 to 1990, and Prof. Abdullahi Bala as the current Vice-Chancellor.
The institution with it's official colour Purple has a landmass of 10,000 hectares and constitute of two campuses named:
- Gidan Kwano Campus (Main)
- Bosso Campus
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
FUTMINNA specializes in technological education.
Both academic and non-academic activities are being carried out on both campuses.
Students and Staff cooperates maximum in conjunction to running the institution.
The institution comprises of 41 academic Departments engulfed in 10 faculties/school's namely:
- School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT)
- School of Life Sciences (SLS)
- School of Physical Sciences (SPS)
- School of Science and Technology Education (SSTE)
- School of Environmental Technology

- School of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SEET)
- School Of Infrastructure, Process Engineering And Technology (SIPET)
- School Of Entrepreneurship And Management Technology (SEMT)

SPORT COMPLEX
Beyond Academics, sporting activities are Carried out, likes of football, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, handball and other track and field events. The school's official football club's name is FUTMINNA TRANSFORMERS.
LECTURE THEATER
Lecture Theater II commonly known as LT2 is the school's biggest lecture Theater and officially used by the school for it's indoor events/ceremony
CONVOCATION SQUARE

Suleimanu Kumo Convocation Square, Main Campus,Gidan Kwano is the school's official convocation square. Matriculations and convocations ceremonies are usually carried out there.
SENATE BUILDING
Senate building is the administrative block of the school

SCHOOL LIBRARY
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Library is the school's library. There are also many libraries located in the school in each faculty

What a beauty! Reading this post makes me miss my university days so much. The environment looks so serene and well structured building. I love the fact that there is a space for sporting activities, it helps to burn some steam and relive some pressure from school stress. The Senate building looks so amazing, great structure... I guess your school is a well planned school. Thank you for sharing! Oh I forget!!! The convocation square is breath taking!!!!

FUTMINNA is an old name in the Nigerian school calendar.
I've never had the opportunity to see how it looks like until now.
Thank God for this contest in which we are shown different government institutions we've never seen.
