CONTEST ENTRY: How well do you know steemit by @taziba for @ngoenyi, 11th may, 2021.

Good day all. My name is Eneghe Ofor and I'm here to write about how far I've gone in understanding the steemit community and the steemit block chain.

Steemit is a blogging platform that operates based on the steemit block chain in which it's members/users can earn rewards through their creativity and originality. It's just like a social media platform but more productive. It rewards it's members in form of steem power(SP), steem backed dollars(SBD) and Tron (TRX).

Earning in steemit is not difficult but this doesn't mean it's easy. Steemians(members/users in the steemit community) earn when their posts or write ups are being upvoted for by other steemians that possess a meaningful amount of steem power.

Now this sounds nice, right? But there's a small catch. Upvotes aren't guaranteed for every post made by a steemian because some write ups are substandard while some others are written by people with no sense of integrity who plagiarize(copy and claim) the works of other people. Substandard posts do not get voted for while plagiarized posts get down-voted and in some cases the owners of the post get muted by the particular community. So please, for any newbie reading this post, steemit is not a give away, it needs work to be done in order to earn from it.

Communities
In steemit, there are different communities that suit the tastes and interests of every steemian. We have SteemAlive, SteemFoods, SteemcryptoAcademy, Newcomers Community and many more. Sticking to one community is not an offense but personally I won't recommend it for anyone that wants to succeed/grow on the steemit platform. Why? Because your earnings will be limited to just that one community and your steemit experience wont be an enjoyable one. I personally dont even think that it's possible for one to narrow his or herself down to just one community because human beings are interested in so many things😂.

Signing up on Steemit
The processes in signing up and creating a account on steemit is as follow;
-Visit www.steemit.com and click sign up.

-You will then be given a master password which can only be known by you.

-Write the password carefully down into a jotter or notebook and click on copy password.

  • You'll be asked to confirm the password so you just paste it there and click Continue.
    -You will then be given your steem keys download them and safeguard them.
    -Your account has been successfully made.

As I said in paragraph 3, upvotes arent guaranteed on this platform therefore some people get voted for while some don't. Because of this, the ones not getting voted for seem to become envious of others, this is not right and should be stopped by steemians. When people see a post grossing higher than theirs, they should take it as a motivation to try harder in improving the quality of their posts and this can only be done by improving their writing skills. People can learn new words and stressed their vocabulary through reading books and studying. Some that find it hard to concentrate what reading can educate themselves with what they hear and observe in movies and documentaries. Thats what i do as I watch several documentaries. Alternatively, others can participate In English classes.

When it comes to sacrifice, I am ready to sacrifice time and energy into steemit and pray it pays off. From time to time I might even sacrifice my sleep for this. I just hope my dedication shall not be in vain.

And lastly my plans towards growing my steem power balance is actually very simple. Since im still a student waiting on my admission, I have no money to purchase steem power but what I can do is to do my best and make posts everyday and partake in competitions/contests.

In conclusion, I hope with this comprehensive write up, I've been able to justify my knowledge about the steemit platform. Thank you.
