HOW TO HARNESS YOUR HABITS BY @starnation

As an adult, almost every morning of your life you are either awakened by your alarm or even the cock crow in your neighborhood. Each time you wake up, you step out of your bed to start your daily routine.

This routine forms the basis of what we call HABIT. A person can have either good or bad habits. You can be someone who always keep in touch with his loved ones, someone who exercises regularly. An individual may also be struggling to quit some bad habits such as smoking, being a drunk and gambling.
Conventionally, because we are imperfect humans we often find it difficult to stop bad habits. We can also find it hard to start up and keep up a good habit. Take for example Tom wants to be exercising regularly, what does he need to do? He needs more than just saying it, he needs to take actions to help him achieve his aim. A practical example is, before he goes to bed before the morning he aims to go and jog he can set up his exercise kits, which makes it easy for him to just get up from bed and put them on immediately.
I would like to talk on three practical tips to help one harness his/her habits.

TIPS ON HOW TO HARNESS YOUR HABITS.

BE MODEST
Modesty is simply the ability of one being able to know his strengths/weakness. As humans we are often so much tempted to be Jack of all trade. It's easier to say I want to do a million things, but we can never master everything.
By being modest one will be able to make a list of the things he wish to do or perhaps quit, then make a scale of preference and pick out 2 or 3 things from the list, then start working on them.

BE MINDFUL OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
Lets say I want to stay on a healthy diet, but each time I find myself in the store, stocking up junk food. Will that approach help me in achieving my aim? Definitely not! Avoid preambles to doing the things you wish to quit, mingle with people who practice the things you want to practice. By doing this it will be easier for you to make the right choice.

LET YOUR MIND BE ON THE END GOAL.
On the course of achievements in life, certain times there might be relapses. Today you might be high in spirit to complete a task, tomorrow you find yourself low in spirit to even start up the same task. Then again you also see yourself taking charge again.
The point is do not stumble and stay down, when you do meet hiccups while trying to achieve a goal, it is okay to feel discouraged, but do not deter. Try again to get back into the game

In conclusion, do not quit!! Quiters are never winners.
