It's indeed a thing of joy to me to share with us all my little knowledge about they said topic HOW WELL DO YOU UNDERSTAND STEEMIT? Before I proceed with this noble contest, I will love to acknowledge the presence of the organizer of this amazing contest, she is no other person but my able and capable city coordinator and also a Country Rep., in the person of @ngoenyi. You have really been very wonderful in coordinating us as the city coordinator, may the good Lord continue to bless and enlighten you to do more. Amen.

Below I will be doing justice to the topic at hand as I will be following the lay down guide one after another. Please read through to the end because I believe I will be able to communicate one or two things to help you grow more in this amazing platform.

Tell me what you know about steemit

In a lay man language, steemit is a platform where you write and get paid for writing. Most people have it at the back of their mind that steemit is just another social media platform where you get paid for writing and posting an article. Technically, steemit is a decentralized social media platform built using the block chain technology where authors get rewarded (authors reward) for creating quality contents, and those who read this content and lives a comment also get a reward (curation reward).

It is important to mention here that when ever you make a post in steemit, you are expected to get either an upvote or a downvote. An upvote adds money to your post whereas a downvote removes money from your post. You as the author of the content, earns authors reward whereas those that voted you earns curation reward.

How can you earn in steemit

There are several ways in which one can earn in steeemit. For the sake of this contest, I will be discussing briefly on some of this ways.

• Content creation
• Curation Reward
• Investment

Content creation:- One of the major ways steemians earn from steemit is through content creation. A well detailed and organized content will earn you so much money in the platform. Now, there are many communities present in the platform and each of this community mostly organize contest and then reward the winners of this contest, in this way, the authors gain reward from the platform. Example of community that organize contest include cryptoacademy, here weekly contest or lectures are organized and when you participate and then carry out your assignment task very well, you will be rewarded.

Curation Reward:- You will agree with me that when we talked about content creation we said you will get paid (authors reward) when you are able to produce quality content, so therefore you will also get paid for voting on other persons post. In simple term, the reward you get from voting on peoples post is known as curation reward. It is important to categorically state here that the reward you gain here is directly proportional to the amount of steem power that you have. That is, the more your steem power, the more your curation reward. Having said that lets quickly go to the last but not the least way to make money in steemit.

Investment:- Since we have successfully discussed both content creation and curation reward, the next is investment. Now this aspect doesn't require you to always be online or write contest or even scroll and read peoples post just so you can upvote. Now the big question is how does this work? To invest in steemit is very simple and easy. Once you are too busy to create content, or vote on peoples post, all you need to do is to buy enough steem and then power it up. This becomes your steempower (SP). Recall that I said your curation reward is directly proportional to your steempower, that is the more steepower you have the more curation reward you will get. Once you have enough steempower and still don't have time to vote on people post you are advise to join any of the curation trial going on in most of the community like @steemalive and others. Now what is curation trial? Curation trail is a means of giving out your steempower to a community to help you carry out the voting activities and then the reward will be sent to your wallet. More also you can delegate you steempower to other community like @steemfood and you will earn a reward at the end of each month.

Is upvotes guaranteed?

Well to my best of knowledge upvote is not guaranteed in all post but never the less it shouldn't stop you as a person from posting because the more you post the more chances you have in getting upvote.

Should you stick to one community?

Steemit as a platform doesn't restrict you as a user to a certain number of communities hence you are free to join as many as possible. You should not stick to only one community, as a matter of fact you can join as many as possible because to succeed in steemit you have to learn from almost all the community as the all have something to teach you.

How do you sign someone up, you can use screenshots to demonstrate.

Signing up in steemit is free and it steps are self explanatory. To sign up a new user, you can click on the link. There are basically four step involve in this process. Once you click on the link you will be directed to this page below

Then click on the signup and it will direct you to the page below

Here you will be required to input any username of your choice, provided it has not been used by any other user and it has to be 3 letter and above. After choosing a username, you are required to input a valid email address in which a verification will be sent to you. Same goes to your mobile number, another verification will be sent to you. After all that is done, click on continue. You will be directed to a page where you will be given a master key and also you will be required to download all your keys in a pdf format.

Should you envy others who receive upvotes when you have not received?

The answer to this question is no. As a matter of fact, it should serve as a motivation to you to do more and improve in your writing skills. In that way you too can earn more.

How can you improve in your writing skills?

To improve your writing skills you must be a reader. What I am saying in essence is that when ever you read through other peoples post, you will be able to get more ideas as regarding the topic under review. More also you must be a good researcher. In addition to this you should always apply markfown to your work.

What sacrifices are you willing to make to succeed in steemit

To succeed in steemit is very easy at the same time it is difficult. To those who write because the wish to earn it will be difficult for them when the earning doesn't come. But for those who derive pleasure in writing will always succeed because they will continue writing even when votes are not coming. I want to sacrifice my time in research making and also my time in recruiting more newbies into the platform.

What are your plans towards growing your steempower?

To grow my steempower is a paramount task for me as a matter of fact, I have a plan of participating in the program organized by steemalive that goes with the title "power2soar" which will be coming up on 18/05/2021.
