Technology in our lives - How mobile phones changed how we communicate
Throughout history, communication has been a very vital part of human relationships down to this day and that is why we all use phones today.
This post is meant to tell us a little about the mobile phone and how it has affected communication in the present world.
Ways of communication before the invention of the Mobile Phone
Before the invention of phones, communication was very hard. It was difficult to share information because the means of dispensing news was very slow and inefficient.
The following methods were used for communication:
Sounds: In the past, various communities had different sounds that have different meanings. When each sound is made, it conveys a message to only indigenes of the community that understand the sound. It makes it difficult for less oriented ones to get the needed information.
Town criers: This refers to individuals whose work is to use gongs or other instruments to walk around a community to declare a message to people. Ths town crier does this anytime a message needs to be sent across to anyone in the community. Unfortunately, he may not get to every corner of society. This leaves those that did not hear the message in the dark. Moreso, this is very tedious work because he will surely get tired after all the trekking and shouting.
Messengers: Messengers are individuals that are sent on a journey to faraway lands for the purpose of delivering a message. This form of communication is slow because it may take days or weeks before the messenger gets to the desired destination, depending on the distance.
Letter Writing: This involves putting down your message in writing, then send to your desired destination through a post office. This form of communication seems efficient but it takes much time as well, also, not everyone is literate enough to compose a letter.
Ways the mobile phone have enhanced communication
We can say that mobile phones have proven to be a messiah for all the problems we had with communication. It has done so in the following ways:
Increase communication speed: Mobile phones have made it easier for us to pass a piece of vital information to people easily and faster by just dialing their mobile number not minding the location.
Reduce cost: With the invention of mobile phones, the cost of communication had reduced rapidly. It is now cheaper to call someone through the phone than to send a letter or a messenger.
Easily speak with people across borders: With the mobile phone, we can easily contact people in other countries by dialing their mobile numbers. More to that, with the introduction of social media applications on the phone, we can speak with people outside our countries at cheaper rates.
See the faces of people we speak with: Some mobile phone apps like Duo allows video calls which allows you to see the other person. Additionally, some social media and video conferencing apps allow you to engage on a video call with people across borders and still see their faces.

Currently, I am using a Redmi Note 7 Android device.

Presently, I am still enjoying my Redmi Note 7 but if I get the chance to upgrade, I’ll get a higher version of the Redmi Note series. Possibly Redmi Note 11 Pro. Redmi devices are exceptional among other Android devices and that is why I will still go for it.
What negative things do people do with mobile phones?
Sadly, many people have gone beyond the basic purpose of the mobile phone. They no longer use it for just communication.
People now use mobile phones for fraudulent activities.
People pollute the internet today by using their mobile phones to share immoral photos, videos, and comments.
Most of all, some people use it to spread lies and fake information.
There are lots of negative things done through the mobile phones
Conclusion
The positive effects of the mobile phone in enhancing communication cannot be over-emphasized. It is really helpful to our lives.
On the other hand, many bad activities are being promoted through mobile phones, but these should not stop us from using our mobile phones. Instead, we need to carefully examine what we do with our own devices and strive to avoid those that use their phones to promote vices.

Phone has really improved our means of communication on like before that we use letter writing to communicate. Before to talk to someone it will take days and you won't even here the voice of the person but with the help of phone one can now communicate any time and any day
