I consider it a privilege to write this post and share this little knowledge about the psychological effects of Alcohol.
Alcohol in its entirety is not bad but being aware of the effects guides our intake and level of consumption.
Alcoolic beverages does not only affect the human body system but has more severe effects on the human brain.
Psychological effects of Alcohol
Heavy drinking can affect the human brain and possibly affect the way the brain reacts to impulse control, memory and concentration, emotions and mood control.
Additionally, it may worsen symptoms of some mental ill health conditions, like anxiety, depression, or even bipolar disorder.
Alcohol intake may lead to mental health symptoms that resemble those of other mental health conditions and this may be hazardous because finding out its cause is difficult as you'll only notice them when you're intoxicated.
These may include:
Alcohol dependence is another bad psychological effect. Those who take alcohol develop a dependence for it and that moves them to take and take so that they'll always have that same feeling.
At this point, the body now longs for alcohol as it now considers it as part of the normal diet.
This effect may be severe or mild based on the symptoms you have. This is a condition known as Alcoholism.
Safety Tips for Alcohol Intake
Eat Well
Do not drink on an empty stomach, instead take enough food or accompany the alcohol with food possibly fish or meat.Take it slowly
Do not take alcohol in a hurry, you need to take it slowly and give your liver some time to digest each quantity it takes in.Take Enough water
If possible take a glass of water once you're done drinking, it helps to cool down its harsh effect on the body.Don't mix with other substances
Alcohol should not be mixed with any other drug, it should be taken exclusively. Mixing with an other hard drug may lead to intoxication easily.
Conclusion
It is not always easy to resist the urge to take alcohol. At the same time it is not easy to quit the habit of excessive intake once it has been developed. Therefore, it is vital to get to know the effect before giving in to heavy drinking.
