Visual aids are things the eye can clearly see. These may come in form of videos(whiteboard/3D Animations), pictures and even things the eye can literally see at the moment of discussion.
The power of visual aids can never be underestimated as they play a vital role in enhancing our understanding.
That is why, Teachers always use examples when teaching their students and also prefer practical when discussing or teaching elaborate topics.

People find it very much easier to relate with things they see more than they do with things they hear. This is the foremost reason why visual aids are important. It is easier to comprehend and understand.
This is mostly applicable to young or smaller children (They learn easily when shown videos or pictures). Older ones too, understand better when they are made to see.

We hear various stories concerning a particular issue but we are most likely to remember the ones we are shown. This makes visual aids very necessary.

How to use Visual Aids

When preparing to teach or speak to someone about a particular topic, Prepare the visual aids you want to use on time and if possible (make sure it is fitting to your topic or illustration), plan yourself on when to introduce it into a discussion for its main purpose to me accomplished excellently and perfectly.

Make sure your listener notices and pays close attention to the visual aids. If possible use questions to discern the level of their understanding and explain further if there's a need for it.
