What is bribery and corruption?

Bribery is the act of giving or receiving any value item with aim of influencing a person to do something or to reward a person for what you have asked he/she to do.

Corruption is the dishonest or illegal conduct or behavior practiced by those in power mostly, typically bribing.

Why is it common?

Bribery and corruption is common due to the bad statue of the world, most countries like Nigeria 🇳🇬 are ruled by bad leaders, leaders who are not even selfless but selfish 😩🤦 , these bad leaders are mostly the ones who give bribe, they are not even leading by example at all. All they care is money money money💰💵💰

This is common because most persons involving themselves in bribery and corruption are not mercilessly punished by the judges, most times they are not even arrested talk more of taking their case to the court to receive the final verdict from the judge.

Explain how bribery and corruption happens in your city, state or country.

🌺 Most times when a driver gets stopped on the way by a police officer, the driver will bribe the officer after the officer has discovered that the driver's documents are not intact or if the driver is a kidnapper and it's victim is being kidnapped and tied in his/her car, so that the police officer won't get he/she arrested.

🌺 A leader currently in power will buy expensive gifts for various judges in the country and tell them not to sentence he/she to death or take he/she to jail if he/she commits any huge crime after leaving he/she's tenure has ended.
There are various ways in which bribing occurs but these are the two I can confidently share with you all for now 😁😁

Why is it wrong for public office holders to get involved in bribery and corruption?

Public office holders are the eyes and hope of the people, they are the number one citizens of a country that's while we the ordinary citizens always look up to them for help.
Can you imagine how it will look in the eyes of the people after seeing a public office holder involving him/herself in bribery and corruption? It looks disgusting! 🤮 How can a whole public office holder involve him/herself in something despicable like this? We are supposed to be trusting these public office holders in our countries, but is quite unfortunate that we are not, because of the way they behave most times.

What should be done to public office holders that get involved in bribery and corruption?

They should be STRICTLY PUNISHED. A judge does not even need to think twice before punishing these public office holders because of this vital position that has been giving to them. We trusted them that is why we gave them the opportunity to be where they are today through our votes.
The judge should just punish them instantly❕

Conclusion
