TOPIC: SAVED BY GRACE
๐ KEY VERSE:
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8)
TODAY'S TEXT:
Romans 11:11-24
๐๏ธ MESSAGE:
The Jews rejected Christ and this resulted in the preaching of the gospel to gentiles and the growth of God's people into a vast international community. We note in verses 11-12 that because of Israel's fall, salvation has come to the Gentiles.
It is Paul's prayer and desire that this will make Israel jealous and long for it themselves so their acceptance can bring greater blessing to the entire word.
Read verses 13-14, again and notice Paul's hope for the Jews. There are still a great number of Jews who do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. We need to pray for the enlightenment.
See how Paul develops his metaphor in the reaching about Jew and Gentiles in verse 17-24. Also read Ephesians 2:1-3,11-12 for clear exposition of the state in which we Gentiles were before God intervened to bring us into his family. How we must live each day in thankfulness for God's great act of love! We cannot afford to take this grace for granted.
As beneficiaries of God's grace we must show concern for our friends and family members who are lost in sin and also
pray for the unbelieving Jews.
