Controversial Thoughts Am Having Concerning Sports and Exercise.
I have been disturbed recently concerning sports and exercise. This though has become a problem to me so, today I want to talk about it; maybe there are experts here that can help to clarify my doubts and confusions.
I welcome to my blog my beautiful and handsome Fellow Steemians. Your days are blessed I know. Let me tell you about my recent thoughts on sports and exercise.
Exercise is a form of sports. It's among the physical movements or activities that one does to stay healthy or become stronger. You can still refer to it as a sport in a way because there's no much difference between the two.
Oxford Dictionary defines Sport as an activity that one do for pleasure and that needs physical effort or skill, usually done in a special area and according to fixed rules. So you see, it's just a slight difference. As far as I know, sports or exercise can be formal or informal.
There are different forms of Sports / exercise:
💚 JOGGING:
This is when a person runs on a low pace. There is swinging of the arms and movement of the whole body especially the legs. Doing this affects the whole of the body totally in every positive ways.
💚 SKIPPING:
This is when one uses a rope to jump up and down consistently in any desired style. One can jump even with one leg up... I did a lot of this in my younger age but you must have good stamina to do this.
💚 SWIGGING:
This is when one sits on an iron rod with chains holding it to a stand . One is being pushe to and fro in a steady form which makes the person enjoy the swing. Some swings are woven these days.
💚 WALKING:
This involves the use of our legs to cover a desirable distance on a slow pace. This works more on our legs and tights. Though some walk can be in a higher pace but not as in jugging.
💚 DANCING:
This is another form of exercise that involves the whole of the body. It happens when one moves the body vigorously at the beat or rhythm of a song...erobics is a type of it. Etc
I will add that all kinds of sports is an exercise.
I have heard people say that whatever that makes one sweat can be seen as an exercise..... mhh!
How true is this because that's where my confusion is? I think it's a controversial conclusion if am asked to say. There are so many things that can make one sweat... Women do a lot of things in the home that make us sweat from morning to night...
- Going to the market
- Cooking
- bathing the children
- Feeding them
- Running from one run to the other
- Work in za oza room...🙄, Etc.
So, am really confused about this because after all these work, I tell myself that I have even exercise more than someone who went to the gym center for any form of exercise. Why would someone be telling me to go register for a proper exercise... haven't I done more that what is required or necessary? This is an every day things... sometimes, from morning till night and my back, legs and whole body will ache afterwards more than that person at the gym house.
If this my notion is true, then, why should most women keep getting fat or remain chubby even in the midst of all these stress and 'work'?
Some of my colleagues doing match pass On our inter-house sports day.
I was sick that period so, all I did was sit and snap.
I know there are benefits of engaging in an exercise...
- Losing weight
- Keeping fit
Are at the top of those list. Well, I will leave you to make your contributions so I will know where I / we have missed it. Thanks for reading to the end. I appreciate your time. Regard to

When we do exercise, we work ourselves healthy. It keeps us fit an healthy. So, any form of exercise Worth's doing. Thanks so much for your nice post.
Thanks dear for your contribution. Let's steem on.
When I was young, I used to frequently see pictures of children like this on television.
Kwashiorkor
On of the symptoms of Kwashiorkor is a distended stomach. Are these children "fat" because they eat too much? It is the opposite, they are "fat" because they don't have enough protein in their diet.
If you start from that perspective, you might draw the conclusion that people who are "fat" are either eating too much or possibly they are eating too little of the right things.
When you eat carbohydrates, they are converted to sugars. This causes your blood sugar to rise above a certain point. When that happens you produce insulin, which takes the excess sugar and stores it in fat cells. That is an example of eating too much.
One of the critical nutrients is Potassium. Potassium is like a key that opens the doorway of the cells to open and allows sugar (glucose) to enter the cells so it can be burned as energy. If you don't have enough Potassium, there isn't enough "keys" to open the cells so the sugar remains in the blood causing you to produce insulin, which takes the excess sugar and stores it in fat cells. This is an example of eating too little.
If you don't have enough potassium in your diet, no amount of exercise will cause you to lose weight. The cells do not have enough "keys" to allow the sugar in to be burned. Since the daily requirements for adults is 4500 mg very few people consume enough. In this article on 10 Foods High in Potassium, they describe how "one medium banana contains about 422 milligrams." How many people eat ten bananas per day? "A half-cup serving of cooked spinach contains up to 400 milligrams of potassium." Do you eat six cups of cooked spinach daily?
Potassium is only one nutrient that people are deficient in. If people want to lose weight, they need to look at eating more of the right foods, stop eating the wrong foods and then look at doing exercises. A little hint though that Yoga can achieve the same results as many of the exercises that you might do.
You are right @dewsrrilow2002, exercise without the right food will not give good result, thank you for all this point, I appreciate it
I have included a couple of videos that you can share with women wanting to lose weight in this post.
