Introduction
Greatings fellow steemians it's get another topic in this wonderful contest and it's an honor for me to participate. It's my second entry for this contest and I will be talking about malaria, it's causes, symptoms, effects and ways to prevent it.
Malaria
Malaria is a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite transmitted by the bite of an infected female mosquito called Anopheles. Malaria is one of the most common disease around the world and we record more than 1.5 million cases per year in Nigeria.
Types Of Malaria
- Plasmodium malariae
- Plasmodium vivax
- Plasmodium ovale
- Plasmodium knowles
Plasmodium malariae÷ is a disease caused by plasmodium parasite transmitted by the bite of infected mosquito. It's a disease that causes servere and life-threatening Malaria and this parasite is very common in Africa South of the Sahara desert.
Plasmodium ovale÷ this is a species of parasitic protozoa that causes malaria in humans. It is one of the five plasmodium species found in the year 1922 that can infect humans.
Plasmodium knowles÷ it is one of the parasite that causes malaria in humans and it is found throughout South Asia and it's the most common cause of human malaria in Malaysia.
Causes Of Malaria
Malaria can be caused due to dirty environment and storage of water around our environments.
Symptoms Of Malaria
A patient infected with malaria will have some symptoms such as sweeting,chills, muscle aches,nausea, headache and vomiting.
Effect Of Malaria
Malaria can cause anemia jaundice because of the loss of red blood cells which could lead to :
- Kidney failure
- Seizures
- Mental confusion
- Coma
- Death
Ways To Prevent Malaria
- Apply mosquito repellent.
- Drap mosquito over beds.
- Treat clothing mosquito net and other fabrices with an insect repellent called permethrm.
- Clear every bush around you and always keep your drainages clean especially during the raing seasons.
Have You Ever Used Any Drug To Treat Malaria
Hmm I personally hate drugs and I don't like taking it especially malaria drugs because their are some malaria drugs that can smell for Africa even to the point where your sweet will be smelling like the drugs.
Conclusion
Malaria is one of the most deadliest disease that can lead to death if not treated on time but thank God it's a disease that can be treated. Thank you all for going through my post.
Malaria it's a deadly disease and has killed so many persons since it's existence but today we can now cure it with the help of some drugs
My dear malaria is never a friend of man just that there is nothing we can do about it.

I really appreciate your article on this topic. Malaria is one of the diseases that kills more people in Africa. I already do one of the things you suggested below:
I cannot remember the last time I slept with a net. Even when I travel, I make sure that my host will provide a net. It is an effective way to prevent getting malaria.

This is just the fact. My doctor told me this when I was pregnant. I make sure i clear bushes around me to avoid this mosquito of a thing. Thanks.
