Prologue
Everything happens in due course or season, season is an undefined period of time or part of a year which some spectacular natural phenomenons occurs. I am really familiar with just three seasons because I have witnessed them in my city countlessly and these are the sunny season, rainy season and harmattan season.
Presently, we are going through the rainy season - a situation whereby rain falls unceasingly at all times but although it might hinder some of our activities, there are fruits that has fallen in love with this season and seem to florish in abundance. Let us see just five of such fruits;
Fruits available in rainy season
1. WATERMELON;🍉 this is a big round fruit (just like football) that has two colors, green which is the outer part and red which is the inner/edible part. It is rich in potassium and has a very high water content, the inner reddish parts has tiny brown seeds which could be planted.
Nutritional benefits of watermelon
- Watermelon has anti cancer effect
- It is very nutritious and has health related plant compounds
- It keeps one hydrated
- It helps reduce stress
Watermelon varies in sizes, therefore their prices differs. A bigger bulb might cost 1,000 (10 steem) and when divided, one might purchase it at 50naira(0.5 steem), 100naira(1 steem) etc.
2. BANANA;🍌 banana is a fruit that looks like plantain but smaller in size, this fruit is a good source of potassium, very rich in vitamin B6 and as high Vitamin C content. Unripe bananas have green shell but when ripe it turns to yellow.

- Bananas aid digestive health ensuring bowel movement
- Bananas improve blood and sugar levels in the body
- Bananas are very rich in vitamins and minerals
- Bananas aid in loss of weight and burns fatty acids
Bananas are sold in bunches which may cost 600naira(6 steem) each bunch but when subdivided, o e could get them at a subsidized rate of 100/200naira(1/2 steem)
3. GARDEN EGG; garden egg also known as egg plant is very popular in my locality, it is more than mere fruit as it is very rich in fibre, potassium, copper, manganese, thiamin etc. it has a great magnesium and folate content and very rich in vitamin B1 and B6. It has enough phytonutrients like chlorogenic acid.
Nutritional benefits of egg plant
- Egg plant are very rich in fibre
- Garden egg helps in food digestion
- It aids in constipation reduction
- Enhances and controls bowel movement
Garden egg could be bought at any price of ones choice but not less than 100naira(1 steem)
4. CUCUMBER;🥒 cucumbers are cylindrical shaped fruits that are very rich in vitamin B,C and K. It also has minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium and copper, cucumber has a high water content
Nutritional benefits of cucumber
- Cucumbers keep the brain healthy
- It makes for an healthy kidney
- Cucumbers are natural remedies to intestinal worms
- Cucumbers lower cancer risks
- It freshens ones breath
Cucumbers varies in sizes and so do their prices but they could be purchased at 100,200,300 naira(1,2,3 steem)
5. ORANGE; 🍊 oranges are bulb like fruits that are rich in nutrients and fibre which helps check sugar level and cholesterol to prevent diseases, it is very high in its calcium content.

Oranges helps the body to make collagen which heals wound
Oranges helps absorb iron which fights anaemia
The immune system is well boosted through the nutrients in oranges
- Oranges are sold according to how the buyer wants it but where, I live 4 pieces of oranges are sold at 100naira (1 steem)
Where I get fresh fruits
I normally purchase fruits from the open air market on Market days in the early hours of the day when they are still fresh and have just been harvested from the farm. There are many fruit stalls around me, where fruits in it's best form are displayed for sale, I also there to make my purchases.
Conclusion
Fruits are very essential for the human body and when processed together brings about very tasty fruit juice. We should increase our fruit intake and be sure to remain evergreen and healthy.

Your article is rich. Over here in Aba, in the fruits you mentioned above are available. I enjoy Watermelon a lot. I also love Cucumber. These two fruits, I buy them almost everyday. They are not expensive in my city. With just NGN500 (about 5 Steem), you can get a very good quantity of both. Its great to eat fruits regularly considering the nutritional content they have.

Nature made it possible for us to have all these fruits during the rainy season since most people are prone to falling ill now. These fruits will act as immune boosters.
