Today, I want to talk about two items which are Television and Baby Walker.
TELEVISION
12" Panasonic Black and White TV
This TV is one of the oldest items in my home and I can tell you that it is older than me.
My father bought it in the mid 80s when he was still working with Nasarawa State Water Board.
It is a 12" black and white television which has no remote control and the sides and top are made with thick brown woods.
As a history that my father is, he said he bought it from one of his senior colleague at the rate of 2naira 50kobo and it was used for about 16 years before the coming of 14" coloured TV.
As you can see, it's too heavy that I couldn't take it out for proper picture because it has been abondoned for about 22 years now.
Back in the days, my father was the first to own a TV in my area thereby everyone comes to my house to watch tv broadcast like world cups and family series on Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) such as After The Storm, Beyond Our Dreams, The Masquerade etc which were mostly aired by 8:00pm and immediately the programmes are done, the children run out because it is followed by NTA network news which we dreaded.
That TV is a quality one and can stay on for 24 hours unless we are forced to go out by programmes we disliked.
I must say that it really served well and it has never been taken for repairs and till date, it can on but it's just that everyone is no longer used to it and it was abondoned the moment a coloured TV came.
32" LG Flat Screen
This TV was bought in the year 2008 at about 38,000 naira by my elder brother from one of the electronics shop in Akwanga and it has been serving us till date (13years) without any kind of fault.
It is sharp and has high picture and sound quality.
This TV was initially placed on a table before it was moved to it's permanent place on the wall after the finishing work on the wall.
So far, there is no reason to change it and with the economic situation, we hope it stays strong and safe for us just the way it is.
BABY WALKER
Wooden Baby Walker
Almost all Nigerian kids in the 90s, 2000 and even now have used this walker which aid children who is learning how to walk.
It is constructed by carpenters for parents at a particular price.
This particular one was constructed by my carpenter brother for his son about 6 years ago and I think it should cost about 300nnaira only.
It was used for just 5 months by the child who abondoned it immediately he was able to walk very well.
Since it was made by a carpenter for his son, it was made with strong wood.
I must say that this wooden baby walker has really been of help to some neighbours after we were done with it.
Plastic Baby Walker
This is the modern walker for kids and was bought in 2021 at Akwanga at the price of 4,700naira.
You know kids love things that can take their attention and therefore, this baby walker is made with beautiful and attractive colours for kids and it's very strong which helps it not to turn over to cause accident whenever a child is riding it just like baby Kosi is enjoying it

This your baby walker is funny. I could remember those days that children uses such. But nowadays, instead of wooden walker, parents have upgraded to plastic walker. Its nice. Thanks for your entry
You are welcome
Thank you for taking part in the Contest.
Thanks ma
I can't stop laughing at this baby walker. This one is quite ancient indeed. Suffice it to say that why babies born in those days that learnt to walk with this ancient baby walker are stronger than those born now
Because they learnt to walk in a very hard and rigorous way under tick and thin Unlike the babies of nowadays that used automated and remote controlled baby walk to learn to walk.
@patience90 thanks for sharing.
