I am @patience90 your chef for the day.

The human body is made up in such a way that the meals we eat are very essential to our system.

There are 6 classes of food which are in charge of building our body, giving us energy, increase our blood vessels and keep us fit, strong and healthy for daily activities.
They are:
Carbohydrates
Protein
Minerals
Vitamins
Fats and oils
Water

In every meal, we are expected to have at least 2 of two of classes of food mentioned to enable us have a balanced diet.
Notwithstanding, today I am sharing about my 3 meals.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

BREAKFAST

IMG_20210922_101033_365.jpg
Moimoi
Breakfast which is the most important meal of the day, need not to be missed unless one is on a religion discipline which is why I don't joke with breakfast.
My breakfast is one of the most popular Nigerian meal calledmoimoi.
This is made out of beans.
The beans is washed and added fresh pepper, onion and crayfish to be grinded into a paste.
Then oil, cooking seasoning and salt can be added to taste while you scoop little amount into a white nylon and boil it on the fire until it is cooked.
Moimoi can either be eaten with pap or water.
My breakfast contains protein, oil and water and it should be eaten between 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Jollof Rice and Beans

This is another meal of the day that cannot be joked with especially when you missed breakfast.
People with busy schedules who misses breakfast never missed lunch which is why many organizations and companies give lunch break.
Most times, breakfast is eaten between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm .
My lunch for the day is jollof rice and beans
The major diet of this meal are oil, carbohydrates and protein.
Rice and beans are known all over the world and everyone has their recipe.

Eaheng la In'gni ong'gno
Dinner in where I come from cannot be ignored.
In fact it is a taboo for dinner not to be made in a household because we believe children should not sleep hungry no matter how poor one is.
Today, I want to teach you one of the special delicacies of my people.
Before then, let me introduce myself.
I am Patience from the Eggon tribe of the middle belt region of Nigeria, west Africa.
Here is my recipe for In'gni ong'gno
NB: "In'gni" means soup and "ong'gno" is the name of the leaves.

Procedure for Soup

First of all, I pound my eashea and pepperIMG_20210921_085516_514.jpg
IMG_20210921_090333_563.jpgIMG_20210921_090442_634.jpgThen soak the pounded eashea, pepper and seasoning cubes together
IMG_20210921_093421_246.jpgIMG_20210921_093457_791.jpg

Then I sliced my ong'gno leaves

IMG_20210921_103214_063.jpgIMG_20210921_103027_165.jpg

Set a pot of water on the fire and added a pinch of engbo (local potash)

IMG_20210921_103533_727.jpgIMG_20210921_103542_184.jpg

After the water has boiled to 100 degrees, add the sliced leaves into the boiling water

IMG_20210921_103726_922.jpgIMG_20210921_104318_909.jpg

After the leaves has cooked and you tasted and ascertain, you can now add your already soaked eashea, pepper and seasoning cubes

IMG_20210921_104541_691.jpgIMG_20210921_105222_235.jpg

Continuing to stir until properly cooked after you must have tasted the eashe to know it is cooked

Finally, your soup is ready and done to be eatenIMG_20210921_105607_464.jpg

The in'gni ong'gno is ready

NB: This soup can be eaten with either semovita, wheat or eaheng oglu (corn flour)
Thereby, I am going to eat my In'gni ong'gno with eaheng oglu (corn flour)

Procedure for Eaheng oglu

IMG_20210819_103657_308.jpgSet your pot of water on the fire and allow to boil to 100 degrees
Then scoop a little quality of the corn flour into an empty bowl and add a little cold water and turn into pasteIMG_20210819_103650_456.jpgIMG_20210819_103731_437.jpg
IMG_20210819_103859_542.jpgTurn the cold paste into the boiling water and stir thoroughly and then cover to allow it boil for some time
IMG_20210819_103904_833.jpgIMG_20210819_110712_558.jpg

After it has boiled enough, add more flour, turn until it strong to your satisfaction, cover for few more minutes to make the added flour cooked, the it is ready

IMG_20210819_110851_585.jpg
Get a nylon, scoop and tie inside and keep in the food flask to stay warm for consumption

My dinner contains carbohydrates and minerals as major ingredients.

CONCLUSION

It is a privilege to share the recipe of my traditional soup with this great family.
