IT IS A NOBLE COURSE TO HELP SOJOURNERS

It was a very wonderful thing to welcome visitors to our environment in the days of our ancestors. They welcome them to their homes and gave them the best of what they had. They sit under the moonlight and tell tales, and there is joy and happiness.
St John writing to the Christian community, telling them to be hospitable to strangers, especially missionaries.

Many missionaries are not easily accepted today in the society, the culture of hospitality is gradually dwindling. If those who did not know God were hospitable to strangers, how could Christians and children of GOD of today not be very sensitive to strangers around them, especially missionaries?

St John tells us that it is our duty to be hospitable especially to those who are in need, the orphans, the less privilege, and we should always be sensitive to the needs of other, we must not wait until we are very rich before we can extend help to others. God is always speaking to us to assist those who are in need especially strangers. And by that we are answering God greatest call which is to LOVE.

             LOVE

The word LOVE is a very common word today especially among teenagers and young adults. It is a word whose meaning has almost become synonymous with erotic feelings and sexual immorality and gratification. The scripture has given us a different perspective to what love means.
We see the law of love given to the Israelites as they were about to enter the promised land. No society can survive if the members do not seek the wellbeing of one another. God told them to love and care for the poor, needy, widows, orphans and those who are not privileged in the society. They are not to always seek their interest and gain, but to seek the good of their neighbours.
We see how Paul and his companions showed that love of God to the people at various places they went to preach,It was only the love of God and man that would make them go to preach the word of God among poor people. Jesus tell us that the greatest law is love. Love of God and of our neighbours.
As Christians, as Children of GOD, as fellow STEEMIANS we are called to love every human person unconditionally, not counting what we will gain. We cannot love God if we do not love our neighbours.
Thanks for visiting and may God help us.
Best regards.

Good morning @oyaks, sorry I will like to make some corrections to this post.
Firstly, with this good writeup, it's not a diary. Diary is written to capture your activities of a day. You start from when you woke up to when you slept. If you did LID, it can be an added advantage in writing.

Secondly, the way you put the references, it didn't give you the desired results. U can correct it by editing it, put it like this:

Please make sure you don't put space, everything is written together. I hope you get it.
You can study the mastering markdown it's a good guide.

Above all, I enjoyed your writeup.
The happenings and nasty experiences of people is making many to be careful of strangers. There are pretenders, robbers, thieves, spies,...all of them hiding under the disguise of stranger to perpetrate evil. May God help us.

Thank You for this talk centered on love, it's importance and the the importance of been hospitable to strangers can't be overemphasized.
But it's important we know whom we bring close to our dwelling place even while we do good because the days are evil.
