LOYALTY

Loyalty can be defined as "a strong feeling of support or allegiance." In other words, loyalty is an attitude with many dimensions. You build it through caring about the other person and their welfare and by standing by them through the good and bad times. You can't demand loyalty nor command it, loyalty is earned.

What about labour?
"All the effort and hard work that have been involved in doing a particular piece of work" is what is called labour.
It can also mean " the amount of physical, mental and social effort used to produce goods and services in an economy." Labour helps turn raw materials into finished products and services.

It's a fact that labour is the fundamental and active factor of production in the world and no one can deny its important contribution to the production of commodities in Nigeria. Without labour, the production of goods and services is impossible and it has important role in the economic development of the country.
But what can one get from loyalty you cannot get by labour? Lets consider some points.

WHAT YOU CAN GET FROM LOYALTY YOU CAN'T GET FROM LABOUR

• Trust. Loyalty is almost universally admired. While labour is the fundamental and active factor of production, without a loyal employee who gives his best in helping the company grow and prosper and a loyal customer who is loyal to your brand and do repeat business with your company again and again, the main aim of labour won't be realized.

• Real lasting relationship with others and your mate. loyalty is especially important in marriage because without loyalty there is no trust and trust is very important for love to flourish. labour is very important, but in long term people keep around trustworthy and stable people above all things.

• Promotions and Deeper connections. I have seen situations where people occupy certain positions not because the merit it but because they where loyal to their boss. You can be great at your job, but if you are not accountable or have bad reputation, its more harder to be rewarded for your work. You can be in one position in many years whereas someone who joined yesterday may get promoted.

• Spiritually, loyalty to God can gain you everlasting life something you can't get no matter how skillful you are in the labour market.

• Respect and love.
  When you are loyal, people will respect and love you.

• You are more likely to be treated with loyalty as well. if you are loyal in every aspect of your life, it will show people of what sort of person you are. i strongly believe that you @uzoma24 loves keeping loyal friends around.

• people will remember you even when you are gone and your children may get to enjoy the reward of your loyalty.
  consider this.... one of the greatest friendship described in the bible- Jonathan's loyalty to David.

why did Jonathan viewed David as a friend rather than a rival even though he knows David being alive means he is second to the throne? Loyalty!
We may be familiar with the story but lets refresh our memory once again.
Saul, Jonathan's father was afried that David would try to take his kingship away from him and because of that he schemed to get David killed in battle. but nothing worked. David keeps winning battles and the people get to love him more. Saul was so full of jealous rage that he hurled a spare at him. but David escaped. Jonathan tried to reconcile his father with David but with no success. David feared for his life and he made his friend know about it. Jonathan asked only that David swear to this promise: "Never withdraw your loyal love from my household, even when God wipes out all the enemies of David from the face of the earth." David agreed that he would always look out for those of Jonathan's household.

Jonathan died in a battle against the philistines. David was so sad that he wrote a dirge over Jonathan. " i am distressed over you, my brother jonathan. You were very dear to me. More wonderful was your love to me than the love of a woman."

Why this story
David never forget his loyal friend Jonathan nor his vow to him. Years later he sought out and took care of Jonathan's disabled son- Mephibosheth. Loyalty is repaid in kind.

Conclusion

Loyalty is such a rare quality this days. However, without loyalty, families are broken and friendships are empty. Anyone in need of a true friend cannot deny the fact that loyalty is priceless, a valuable gift in this world.

David and jonathan's relationship is a good example to show that there are things one can get from loyalty he can't get by labour. "Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I may show loyal love for the sake of Jonathan"? that was David asking Ziba one of saul's servant. mephibʹosheth is crippled in both feet and sees himself as a dead dog. but David because of his fathers loyalty, returns all lands of his grandfather and even made him to dine with him. something he can never achieve if he labour for it.
