on July 14 2016 steemit was announced hacked so this cause a lot of setback for steemit due to what is happening to steemit the chief technology officer then Dan Latimer stepped back and left the company.
On January 22, 2019, Steemit announced structural changes in their leadership team. Former CEO Ned Scott was named Executive chairman, Elizabeth Powell, the former Head of Communications & Advocacy was named the new Managing director.

Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website, which rewards its users with the cryptocurrency STEEM for publishing and curating content, and is owned by Steemit Inc., a privately held company based in New York City and a headquarters in Virginia

HOW CAN YOU EARN IN STEEMIT
someone can earn in various ways in steemit the first thing to take note is activeness on the steemit platform
1.By writing a very good and readable content ,when people read your post and they get exited with they will be commented and voted or curated by curators

1. By voting ,someone can earn in steemit because when you vote and the money is been paid out 50% goes to the person you voted and 50% comes to you as a voter or curator by doing this you'll get more STEEM and more STEEM power

2. someone can also earn By doing lid,doing contest,and writing of dairy game post
