Art has been part of life since ages. It brings out beauty of a place and gives information indirectly. Here are some art work in my city and the history behind them. Find out.

Seeing this picture what comes into our mind is a picture of a strong man lefting a heavy object. Yes thats what this statue symbolizes. There are so many people out there who make a living by doing this. This work of art help to bring the picture close to peoples mind. This art can be seen at university of Uyo art department.

_{military man protecting a civilian}

According to someone I saw close when I was taking picture of this statue. He said this statue here describes a military man who protected a girl child from been raped. The girl was always coming around to learn in the school back then so some boys were jealous of her and planned to destroy her career by impregnating her so that faithful day she went as usual to learn in the school pramesis and was attacked by the guys but fortunately for her a solider was close by as she was shouting the military man intervened and saved her. That was why they molded them in the school compound.

_{A dancer}

Dancing is something that can not be overlooked. In Akwaibom they have so many dancing cultural groups. And dancing is part of their tradition that while in Akwaibom traditional marriage can not be complete without this dancers performing to entertain the guest. So this statue here is a picture of a great Akwaibom dancer.

_{Dakkda five finger}

This is a slogan that is brought by our amiable governor Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. The present Governor of Akwaibom state. According to him akwaibom was known for doing minor work unlike other states that are known for business and other things. The governor further said that some Akwaibom sons and daughters are known for Househelps and gatekeeper then but he has come to eradicate that mindset from people that the youth of Akwaibom should raise for greatness and be useful, be hardworking and standout like thier counterpart state who are doing well. That is why when you come to Akwaibom today you will see this dakkada five fingers almost everywhere in Akwibom state. This DAKKADA means STANDUP.Since then we have been using this slogan everywhere we go.
