The Game of Golf ⛳

A golf course is a large area that usually contains nine or 18 holes. Unlike most other games, no golf course is exactly the same and part of the appeal of the game is trying out different golf courses. The object of the game is to take turns hitting your golf ball into each of these holes with minimal strokes, with a variety of different golf clubs.

Each hole has a tee, or tee, as it is called; this is where the players start. The area where the hole can be found is called the fairway. There are also a number of groups of dangerous trees and shrubs, bunkers filled with sand, small streams or ponds and other areas on one or both sides of the fairway known as the rough. If you hit the ball in the rough, or in one of the other areas, especially a pond, you could be in trouble. Several strokes may be necessary to take the ball out and put it back into play.
The hole is located in the middle of a piece of smooth grass called a green. A pole is stuck in the hole, with a small flag attached, so players can see what they are aiming for.

Each round of golf is based on playing a certain number of holes in a certain order. A round usually consists of 18 holes which are played in order.
To begin the game, a player 'tees off' - that is, he places the ball on a small wooden or plastic dowel, called a tee;

Then he chooses one of the many golf clubs in his bag to hit the ball as far as possible in the direction of the hole he is aiming for. Once the ball comes at rest, the golfer moves it once more as typically as essential till the ball reaches the green. On the green, he makes use of a unique membership known as a putter to get the ball into the hollow in as few strokes as possible.

Sometimes players are accompanied by caddies, which transport and manage golf clubs and other player equipment. According to the rules of the game, caddies are authorized to give advice on the course. The caddy can only give this advice to the player (s) for whom they work with, and not to any player.

The player that finishes the course with the fewest strokes is said to be the winner of the game.
