Introduction

A wonderful day to every steemalive member in the community. How've we all been?
Today I'm sharing something I've learnt from life. I hope it will help,encourage and strengthen someone out there.

My Story Proper

Chinedu and Ijeoma studied Marketing at Federal Polytechnic Oko. Both of them were classmates and after 4 years of studying hard, they graduated. After graduation,life took them on different paths.

5 years later....

After so much disappointments and frustrations of securing a job,Ijeoma finally got a job as a secretary in a construction company earning 50,000( fifty thousand naira per month).

Meanwhile Chinedu on the other hand,couldn't find a job so he ended up being a keke(tricycle) driver. He makes at least 5,000 (five thousand naira),daily and if he works for only 20days in a month,he goes home with 100,000 naira that month.

One evening, Ijeoma closed from work and was waiting at the bus stop for keke when chinedu stopped. She hopped in when she knew the keke was going her way but little did she know it was chinedu.
All through the journey Ijeoma was lost in her phone.
She got to her bus stop and after alighting,just as she was about paying, she took a look at the driver and their eyes met!!! Wow!! They were so happy.

They asked each other at the same time. Ijeoma gave him money but chinedu insisted she keep it. He was happy to see her and for old times sake,he left the money for her even when she insisted paying. They both exchanged contacts and left.

Ijeoma went home that night and was lost in thoughts. Not as if Chinedu was looking bad oh,but chinedu riding keke?? She couldn't wrap her head around it. She pitied him,she felt sorry for him. If Chinedu had allowed her,she would have paid him and begged him to keep the change. Hahahhahahahahahhahaha.
Little did she know that Chinedu had another keke running for him,he is a land owner and planning on developing it soon,but because he was riding a keke,she felt pity for him.

On the other hand,Chinedu felt sorry for himself as well. Before he slept that night,he remembered Ijeoma, how neatly she was dressed and how nicely she smells.
She must be earning over 300,000( three hundred thousand naira) per month he said to himself.
He felt ashamed,he felt like he was a failure and that she was way ahead of him financially and otherwise.

If only he knew that if Ijeoma removes her transportation and feeding money from her monthly salary,it would take up to four months for her to make what he makes in a month.

Sadly,this could be the situation of many of us. We measure our progress and successes with that of some of our friends when we have very limited information about them.

You think you have it worse because you look dirtier,because you're not on corporate wears, or because the other person acts and smells nicely.

• STAY FOCUSED AND FACE YOUR LIFE!!

It's not a competition. Stop comparing things you don't have a full picture of.
You might not be where you want to be right now,but note that some of your mates are in the grave!!
