Hello friends and fellow contesters, good day and welcome to Day 3 of "5 days writing challenge-meet a genius". Today I'll be talking about another world changer, a feminist and talented writer and who could that'll be?,your guess is as good as mine. Mrs Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Early life/profile

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie,a novelist and feminist campaigner was born into a middle class Igbo family on 15th September 1977. Her father by name Mr James Nwoye Adichie was a Professor of statistics at the University of Nigeria Nsukka while her mother Mrs Grace Ifeoma was the first female registrar of the same University. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is the fifth of six children born to Mr James Nwoye Adichie. During the Nigerian Civil war,her family lost almost everything including her paternal and maternal grandfather. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a voracious reader from an early age she was and had been inspired by professor Chinua Achebe. She got married to a Nigerian doctor, Ivara esege.

Education

Mrs Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie had her secondary school at the University of Nigeria secondary schools after which she proceeded to study medicine and pharmacy for one year and half at the University of Nigeria. Later on at the age of 19, she moved to the United States bro study communication and political science at Diexel University in Philadelphia. After sometime, she transferred to Eastern Connecticut State University for her bachelor's degree where she received her fair share of racism. She eventually graduated with the distinction 'Summa cum laude' from Eastern Connecticut. State University in 2001. In 2003,she proceeded to John Hopkins University for a master's degree in creative arts in addition she also holda a master of arts degree in African studies from Yale University Connecticut . She has the following honorary degrees to her credit;

career/Achievement

From age 10 had been inspired by professor Chinua Achebe's literary presentation of Nigerians. So in 1997, she published her first collection of peoms "Decision" as well as a play entitled "for love of Biafra" in 1998. In 2003,she wrote her first novel "purple hibiscus" ,the story that attracted many prizes and recognition. She came up with another interesting story in 2006 "half of a yellow sun" ,named after Biafra's struggle in Nigeria. The novel was made into a movie which was released in 2014 with casts including Chiwetel Ejiofor. In 2009, she wrote her third book"The thing around your neck" containing 12 stories on relationship between Africa and United States, Men and Women, Parents and Children. In 2013,the talented writer wrote a story concerning race and identity "Americanah" which was lincensed for publication in 29 languages. Finally in March 2017,she oubly another book "a feminist manifestos in fifteen suggestions". A book in form of later to her friend with suggestions on how to train a female child to become a strong independent woman.

Awards//Recognitions

In 2002,she received "Caine prize" for writing "You in America". In 2004,she also received "orange prize" for "purple hibiscus" and "broker prize" for the same book. In 2005, she was awarded the "Commonwealth writers prize:best book(overall)" for "purple hibiscus". She also received the "British books award, Richard and Judy best book of the year" in 2007. Finally in 2009,she received the "international future award, Nigeria:young people of the year".source

Reasons for talking about her)/Conclusion

Despite public condemnation and hate of feminism, she promoted her belief of it and presented it in a different way. This has taught me that not everyone will like my ideas or initiatives at first but if I want to succeed I must avoid all sidewalks and discouragement or even hate from people and keep moving. She also has a unique way of making readers go crazy with her writing and also a peculiar way of driving her points home,Lesson: communication can also determine the failure or success of a business.

She has been a voice for a lot of women and her strong will is what I admire most about her.

Chimamanda is very educated, well read, a good communicator, beautiful African/Nigerian. She is so good in spoken English. She's also a lively person. I really admire her intelligence. Fine writeup.

Am always glad when female takes a lead role in the society, it motivates me that one day I will also break the record despite the level of feminine discrimination in our society today.
Chimamanda is a great woman, he novels are really great and her love for literature work amazes me, I must say that I admire her courage as well. Thanks for sharing dear.
