Introduction

Hi everyone, It's time to update you on how the 6th day road show of Lagos State went. I am grateful to Steemalive for this opportunity to reach out and interact with people. Here is a detailed description of how the road show went.

Preparation

We already decided a location when we finished our last week road show. We said we will be going to the University of Lagos.

In the morning, @beautybb chatted me and told me that we have to leave early in order to meet people at our targeted spot. And also, since we had newbies who wanted to join the road show for the first time, we had to hasten up to motivate and meet up with them.

Finally, by 9 am, we were already on our way to the selected area. We had to take three drops and trek into the gate of the university to reach the main entrance.

How it went and our efforts

We called @ruthjoe who was already inside the school, waiting for us. She met us and we headed to the campus sport site. Unfortunately, the area was on shut down and being renovated. So we couldn't have access into our proposed site.

Alternatively, we went down straight ahead into the campus and started talking to anybody at our reach. We first mounted our banner at a spot where a lot of people were practicing sports. They listened to us and we really stayed long there trying to recruit people.

I spent a lot of time with the first young man I talked with. I tried to convince him to sign up, which he did. It sounded awesome to him that he can be paid for his creativity on steemit. I signed him up as @buffson and we exchanged contacts so that he will be able to set up his page and write his first achievement post. I requested we take a selfie and he agreed.

Afterwards, I wen ton to meet my team because they have already gone a bit far from where i was talking with my new recruit. When I met them, I helped them to explain some things to the people they were talking to, since they were attending the road show for the first time too. @ruthjoe and @beautybb also did a great job in coaching our new promoters.

Subsequently, @beautybb was able to sign up a young man who was a security personnel at a bank inside the University. He was signed up as @chimoneydgenius and he was eager to make his introduction post.

Our team member @ruthjoe also signed up @flashgist, and also talked to many other students which we left the fliers with.
I talked to many other people of which one of them was convinced to register, but along the line, his network and his phone number became a hindrance. The confirmation code for his phone number was not working. But we exchanged phone numbers and he said he will keep trying it.
@mimikaris106 was also able to catch us in the action as we were talking to people.

Conclusion

After spending almost three hours promoting Steemit, we were a bit tired so we had few refreshments, rested for a while, and left the location for our various homes.

The provision for steem Road Show has given us the opportunity to know many people. It has helped me to improve my communication skills and know how to convince folks to make positive steps and progress towards steemit.
