I am excited to participate in a contest of this magnitude. Thank you @SteemAlive for this brain stimulating contest.

Introduction

In our history as humans there have been people who were exceptional in various aspects of human endeavors and accomplishments. Such as in music, science, arts, poetry, architecture, warfare just to name a few. Such ones were regarded as geniuses. But the question still remains, who is a genius?

Defination Of Genius

"A genius is a person who displays exceptional intellectual ability, creative productivity, universality in genres, or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of new discoveries or advances in a domain of knowledge."(Source Wikipedia)

Alexander the Great fall into one of this categories a fearless military strategist. He believed that nothing was impossible or unachievable. So at age 32 he conquer the then known world and carved out a "Hellenistic" empire.

History Of Alexander the Great

Alexander III of Macedon, known to most as Alexander the Great, inherited his kingdom (in modern-day Greece) at the age of 20, following the assassination of his father, Philip II, in 336 BC.

After suppressing his enemies on home soil, Alexander moved quickly to reassert Macedonian power in Greece and to conquer the Persian empire, achieving victories across the Persian territories of Asia Minor, Syria and Egypt without suffering a single defeat.

The next eight years of campaigning saw him create an empire that stretched across three continents and covered around two million square miles – south into Egypt and as far east as the Indian Punjab.

He was undefeated in battle and is widely considered one of history’s most successful military commanders – but died in his prime at Babylon in June 323 BC, just before his 33rd birthday.(Source:H History Extras)

Why Alexander the Great was Great?

Many conquered lands retained the Greek influence Alexander introduced, and several cities he founded remain important cultural centers even today. The period of history from his death to 31 B.C., when his empire folded, would come to be known as the Hellenistic period, from “Hellazein,” which means, “to speak Greek or identify with the Greeks.” Alexander the Great is revered as one of the most powerful and influential leaders the ancient world ever produced.(Source: Alexander the Great. Why I Chose Him

(1.) My late father read world Affairs in history so at an early age he inculcated in me the love for history. I read and watch a lot of documentaries on History Channel, Youtube, and National Geographic Channels.

(2.) In life there are many challenges and hurdles to climb. Just as "Alexander the Great " summoned courage to face King Darius and his great army so can I. He saw only possibilities. And he had a great mind set which made him conquer the world at age 32. So with me been a physical challenged person, optimism and a strong mind set will carry me through my personal challenges too.

(3.) He was hard working and paid attention to details. A good quality to emulate. As a leader, he lead by example. He was at the forefront of all his military campaign and conquest.

Conclusion

Geniuses are not really born geniuses, they developed their thinking abilities and saw impossibilities as nothing. They are hard working and spend more time on anything they are truly interested in.

You too can be a genius in many other ways like making your home peaceful, doing your best to provide for your family. Been a source of encouragement to those who need encouragement.

I am a genius too. Do you know why? Because I am writing about a genius and it takes a genius to write about a genius.Thank you.
