Preamble

It's another new week filled with so many topics to write about in the ongoing ProWriters Hub Week 2 organizes by @steemalive. I'm glad to be part of it
This is my first entry and it's ten beautiful pictures of my town, Aba, Abia State. So join me

Picture 1: Christ the King Cathedral (CKC)

Christ the King Cathedral, CKC located at No 54 Asa Road is the cathedral of about 96 catholic parishes, stations and chaplaincies in Aba Diocese. It is the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Aba Diocese, Abia State. Entering the Cathedral environment, you will see the church building at the center, the Chancery and Chibueze Microfinance bank at the extreme left, the Rex Bookshop, the Rex Newspaper Office, Bishop Nwanegbo Complex, Fr Groetz Church (which is the old church building), Maka Nwere Onwe Chapel, CKC Nursery and Primary school, CKC College and other buildings. CKC, Asa Road is a place worth seeing.

4 Storey Building at 36 Jubilee Road

This is one of the 4 storey buildings located at 36 Jubilee road beside Doctors Save A Life Mission Hospital, by Azikiwe Road. The down floor of the building has shops, boutique and warehouse, while other apartments in the building are offices and homes. The 2nd floor front is the office of Smacin profit sharing business,

Picture 2: LG House Right Choice Electronics

This is the newest branch of LG House Right Choice electronics which was opened just recently and they are running a promo for all customers that will patronize them within the promo period. They sell all kinds of electronics like television sets, refrigerators, home theaters, air conditioners, fans, and other electronic gadgets.

Picture 3: School Road Section of Ahia Ọhụrụ Market

Ahia Ọhụrụ is one of the popular markets in Aba, Abia State. In this market, there are many sections called lines, there's line 1, 2, 3, 4 etc and in each line different products are sold ranging from textiles, ankara, OK materials (jeans, sports wears, skirts, shirts, trousers, jackets etc), kitchen utensils (pots, plates, spoons, blenders, etc) foodstuffs (garri, rice, beans, melon, crayfish, achi, stockfish, dry fish, ice fish, condiments, vegetable oils, etc) plastic buckets, gallons, and so many other thing you can find in the market. In fact there's a popular line In Ahịa ọhụrụ called "eze nde ị na achọ ke?" meaning what are you looking for?. This is where you will see everything used in traditional medicine practice like cowries, old coins, native calabash and chalks, native fowl eggs, turkey eggs etc.
There's another section called Highlife, that's where most ụmụ nwanyị ngwa (ngwa women) who bring their farm produce from their various villages or some ohụhụ women (non ngwa women) who visit these village markets including those from surrounding villages sell their wares especially food items and farm produce. Ngwa is usually attributed to almost every item sold there; garri ngwa, ngwa pepper, Ụgụ ngwa, uha ngwa, Ukazi ngwa, okro ngwa even tomato ngwa 😂.
The school road section of Ahia ọhụrụ is usually busy and noisy, people moving to and from the market, market men and women calling out to passersby to come patronize them, Keke and bus drivers plying up and down with loaders calling out various destinations for people to board, wheelbarrow pushers shouting on top of their voices "ọbụ ihe na aka pụọ na ụzọ" literally meaning make way let me pass. Here you can buy things like plastics, some kitchen utensils, gift items, hair care products, cosmetics, and many other things.

Picture 4: Obikabia Junction

Obikabia Junction is one of the junctions in Aba. It got its name from a village called Obikabia. It connects Ukaegbu Road, New Umuahia, Federal/Umuafor Rd, leading to Umuobiakwa, Itungwa, Nvosi down to Isi Court in Umuahia, Umukalika/Ahia Nkwo road, Ehere/Umuola road
The statue on the roundabout is that of the late Minister of Works in the defunct Eastern Region, Chief Paul Ururuka.
Obikabia junction is always busy because so many business activities are going on there. There's Crunchies Plus, the Oak Restaurant & Bar, shopping malls,mini market, Chibudo filling stations, a military check up which makes it a bit secured etc

Picture 5: R & S Lotto Building

This is the main branch of R & Lotto in Aba and its located at Azikiwe Road by Asa Road. It is the biggest lotto company in Aba and they have dominated the market so much that other companies that came in were sent packing within few years even months of operation.

Picture 6: Adam & Eve Motors

This is one of the branches of Adam & Eve motors located at 50b Ngwá Road by East Street. Adam & Eve motors is one of the oldest transport companies in Aba. It's been in existence for more than thirty years now and it's operations has evolved. They have fleet of buses that reaches all the south eastern states and to other major cities, including a courier service.

Picture 7: Azikiwe Road Tyre Market

One of the major places where motor tyres, wheels, and batteries are sold is along Azikiwe Road precisely after Asa road to Okwu na Uka Junction (CPS)
Here, you can get both brand new and second hand batteries and tyres. Some names of the tyres sold here are **Michelin, MRF, Maxxis, Goodride, etc. You can also see vulcanizers there.

First Bank Plc is one of the oldest, strongest and most patronized banks in the country so many branches in all over the country. This branch is located at Ehi Road by Mosque Street.

Picture 9: Etche Road Market

Etche Road market off Mosque Street, Aba is a popular place where all types of clothing materials ranging from laces both bale and sample laces of different colors, designs, ankara, sequins, chiffon, linen, net, etc and some other clothing materials accessories.

Picture 10: Santario Hotel

Santario Hotel is located along Obikabia /Umukalika road. It's a nice and cozy place to relax and the environment is always quiet.

Wow,my friends,you have shown us a very good picture of your town as it looks beautiful.

Take a look at that bank,it is one of the famous bank here in ABA and it is a place where people save their money and also do lots of things.

Your pictures are clear enough to showcase the beauty of your town Aba. Ahia Ohuru is pne busy place, a place i am always careful of my bag when going to avoid stories.
