MY DIARY GAME @luchyl : ATTENDING THE MOTHERING SUNDAY (MOTHER'S DAY) CELEBRATION AT ST AMBROSE CATHOLIC PARISH, OGBOR HILL ABA.

INTRODUCTION
In the Calendar of the Catholic Church nationwide, Mothering Sunday (Mother’s day) is usually done after the Easter celebration.
It is a special day where husbands, children, family members and friends and well wishers all come together to celebrate all the mothers.
For this year, the church chose Sunday April 24th, being the Divine Mercy Sunday, as the day to celebrate all the mothers tagged “Mothering Sunday” and the Catholic Diocese of Aba, and my Parish, St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, Omoba Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State, Nigeria in particular was not left out.
To mark the Mothering Sunday, the Catholic Women Organization, (CWO) of St Ambrose Catholic Parish, Ogbor Hill, Aba organized a week long of activities filled with pomp and pageantry ranging from retreat, seminars, football competition, march past, dressing competition etc. where every society is expected to participate actively, then other activities will follow on Sunday, being the D-day.
On Sunday, 24th April, 2022, the event started around 10:40am with the celebration of Mass by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Jacob Ugbaja (Önwa).
Being a mothers day, the women were the ones that played the roles of Alter Knights or Alter Servers, Lay Readers, Minister of Hospitality, and the choir. As usual they were all dressed in their general CWO uniforms.

The readings of the day was taken from the book of Acts of the Apostles 5:12-16 for first reading, Revelation 1:9-11a.12-13.17-19 for second reading, Psalms 118:2-4.22-24.25—27a (R. 1) and the Gospel from the book of John 20: 19-31).
The Priest in his homily thanked the mothers for their great sacrifices and good works in the family, the church and the society at large and urged them to continue in their selfless service. He also prayed that God will continue to fill them with His Grace to continue to be good and exemplary mothers.
He noted that without women (mothers), men are incomplete, cf Genesis 2:18-22.
He also went further to say that if a family, church or society is incomplete if a woman is not found there.
He stressed that the duties of women (mothers) in the family, church and the society cannot be over emphasized.

The highlights of the day was the unveiling and cutting of the mothering Sunday cake, support and donations, award giving to few persons, special thanksgiving procession by the women, the band display.

The President of the CWO, thanked all that came to celebrate them and with them including those who supported them.
After the mass ended around after 2pm, we headed home to continue the celebration.

Mother's deserve more than any other being on Earth because they are the ones that makes life more interesting by giving birth to Rogers and help to develop earth.

Am really sorry for replying late. I have been having low battery since morning. What I mean is this. When making your diary game post, minimum of 4 pictures is okay. You can put others in writing. That makes your post looks neat and also attract votes.

Of a true, the mothering Sunday is one of the services the I really Love in the Anglican Church because as you listed above, it really true and the song that they use to sing on that day is really Good and Lovely to hear.. and on that day, there is always a Joy the flows on the air just like the Christmas ⛄⛄⛄ day...
