I'm glad to be part of it and this is the first entry: a tutorial on how to make ankara earrings.

Ankara Earrings

As we all know, earring is one of the jewelries a woman adorns herself with. It is part of women's fashion that has been in existence till time immemorial and will still be in times to come. For some people, a woman's dressing is seen as incomplete if she is not wearing earrings while some see it as not being so important.

There are many types of earrings ranging from studs, dangle, drop, cluster, hoop, Huggies, chandelier, ear climbers etc source and they come in different sizes, colors and shapes.
With the advent of ankara fashion, people now started making and wearing ankara earrings to put more style and glamour into their outfit.
That being said, join me as I take you through on how to make Ankara Earrings.

Materials Needed

• Ankara fabric
• Uhu gum, Evostic or B-6000 gum or any other gum that can hold very well.
• Scissors
• Earrings hooks.
• Pen or pencil for drawing
• A round object of preferred size
• Warden or thick paper
• Pearls of preferred color.
• Chukker or any object that has a sharp pin like tip.
• Pliers

Procedures

• First draw four circles on the warden using the round object.
  

• After drawing the circles, cut them out using the scissors. Make sure while cutting you do not make mistakes and miss the circles on the warden.

• Next, rub gum on one side of the four cut wardens make sure it's evenly rubbed. Allow to dry for few minutes depending on the type of gum you are using.

• Once dried, place the wardens on the wrong or back side of the ankara fabrics, make sure to leave space between them for easy cutting. Press hard so they can gum very well then cut out.

• After cutting, notch it a little so that it will relax, then rub another gum on the tip of four sides of the warden allow to dry for few minutes, then fold in.

• After folding in, rub gum on the remaining part of the warden, allow to dry then place each of the sides together and press very well so they can hold.
• Use the chukker to open a space close to the tip of the already gummed fabric, then fix the earring hooks. For easy access, use the chukker to open the hooking side of the earring hooks a little, then fix it after which you close it back with the pliers.

Your earrings is ready. To give it more fashionable look, you can design it with pearls or stones to suit your style.

• To do this, rub gum on the pearls one after the other and place on your earrings.

Final Note

Making of ankara earrings is so easy and doesn't take much time. It saves you cost of buying new earrings for your ankara wears. Since I learnt it, I usually make it for every of my ankara outfit.
Another thing is that you can earn money from making this earring and teaching others how to make it.
My tutor is doing well in the business and she has trained so many people who are successful in the business too.
