I will be answering the questions below.
What is Steemit?

Steemit is a social media platform built on a blockchain.we can also say steemit is a decentralized social media platform where people come to learn and earn at he same time which is unlike the centralized social media platforms like facebook.The token/asset in operation here is *Steem**. We also have the SBD (Steem Backed Dollar) and the newly integrated Tron (TRX) in operation on this awesome platform. Steemit was co-founded by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer in July 4, 2016.
How can you earn on steemit
There are various ways to earn on this platform if you're really serious here. You can earn by;
Writing and posting quality and original content without any form of plagiarism.
You can earn by Curating. This means earning gotten from voting other people's quality content. There is a portion of rewards that comes to you when you vote people's content.
Joining Curation trail. You can also earn via this means. Here you will have to join your voting power with that of others in a community or certain individuals. This implies that anytime the community uses the trail to vote,you earn.
You can earn more by investing in steem,when you focus on building your steem power,you will reap the return on the long run.
Delegation is another way of earning. If you delegate to certain individuals or community that you love and trust for the sole purpose of support,you can be given certain percentage as appreciation on regular basis.
Is upvote guaranteed
It's is a yes and know for me. Upvote can be guaranteed when you put alot into your content,I believe people are rewarded on this platform for the quality content they put up here and for following proper guildlines,if you do it well you will be rewarded and if not....

@ngoenyi will always from time to time enlighten us on the need to put up quality content and nice formatting in our post as it's gives us an edge on this platform. Upvote on the other hand is also not guaranteed because the curators might withhold the right to vote these content due to certain reasons best know to them. Some of these reason might be to test their motive of joining,as some came to bag the money without any consideration or intent to grow the blockchain even in the community level.Another reason is to test commitment and the likes.
Should you stick to one community
No one is restricted to one community on steemit,you're free to join as many as you want. But my question is will you be committed to all these communities? It therefore means you don't have to join too many communities if you really want to be active and committed. Every community need people that will be committed to their growth and not just random people without any good intention.
How do you sign up for someone?
- Go to steemit official website and click on the 3 parallel line at the top right coner http://Steemit.com
- when it opens,you click on the sign up button
- enter the username of the person and a valid email because a code will be sent there.
Acess your mail to retrieve the code and input it in the appropriate place on steemit sign-up interface

tick on the I'm not a robot icon on the sign-up interface then continue.
- Your master key is then generated.
- Visit your wallet from there to access a PDF which contain all the keys you will ever need for your activities on this platform.
Note: I limited the process as seen in the pictures here (but gave a detailed explanation via the steps) because I understand that creating two account without due process is seriously frowned at here in steemit blockchain.
Should you envy others who received upvoted when you have not?
Smiles...to be frank one will be tempted to especially when you don't know how the system works. People are rewarded for hardwork and I've seen it occurred over and over. My mentor

@steemalive will always tell us to work hard,that it pays. My mentor has proven this by showing us screenshots of people who have followed this path and have suceeded. If you don't want to put in effort then don't expect any reward which includes upvotes.You will keep envying people even when you yourself have the same ability and potentials those person have,the difference is in the decision to maximize that potential and ability.
**In summary,it is wrong to envy others,follow the path that those ahead (mentors) have treaded.**
How can you improve in your writing skill?
Since contents with quality is what sells here,attention must be given to it. And that is why Achievement 3 and 4 in the Newcomers community stress the need for original contents and good formatting (markdowns). Therefore the list below are the ways I can improve personally.
- Writing contents that is not below the required number of words (nothing less than 300words/post)
- Posting original contents and staying away from plagiarism.
- Properly putting reference to qouted words and images (image source)
- Applying markdowns where appropriate
- Mentioning people related to the post or writeup especially when they have been of great help.
- Checking the write-up of your mentors and those I've spotted to be good in putting up quality content.
- Reviewing my write-up before posting it.
These are some of the method i'm personally using to improve my writing skills. Of course am not there yet,am still learning patiently.
What Sacrifice are you willing to make to succeed in steemit
This is a big question and it's a very good one which many newbies will want to run away from. Many of us came here just to earn,they don't care about building something that will last long,so anything sacrifice will not register in their ears,I was once there anyways,but over time I've learnt that there is a price for every great achievement,we congratulated our city cordinator
@ngoenyi just yesterday as she was just been announced as a country Rep. but you know it is well deserved because many of her activities were sacrificial,I could recall some of the things she told us on one of our zoom meeting meetup telling us how she continued steeming even when she thought she was not being noticed,how that she even delegated SP's to newbie for growth and also leaving her steem on the blockchain without cashing out for a very long time and her commitment to see us grow and excel on steemit. All these are contrary to the mindset I came in with,all these are signs of dedication and commitment.. in summary I have chosen these path. I will focus more on building my account/ portfolio than just cashing out and also be committed to the growth of this blockchain steemit, like she said,you will be noticed someday when you keep up with the good work . I believe this is a sacrifice on my path.
What are your plans towards growing your SP.
From the things I've learnt so far on steemit via steemalive,SP is what makes you influencial on this platform therefore attention should be given to it. I've decided to stop the Habbits of selling my steem but power it up instead,thank to
@whitestallion who personally enlightened me more on this aspect. I've also decided that my SBD will also be converted to steem for the purpose of power up,joining contest that helps to grow steem like
@kiwiscanfly, SPUD and
#power2soar by steemalive will go a long way in building my SP. Selling will now be occasional.
Conclusion
My journey here on steemit has been interested and full of discoveries,I learn everyday,am open to learning here everyday,I explore a lot. I won't fail to mention that my stay here has been worthwhile. Special regards to @focusnow
