The Diary Game//Traveling from Aba to Awka and what the soldiers did//21–08–2021
Hello, wonderful people of the steemalive community. I hope your day was amazing and stress free? I would've loved to say the same about mine....
But unfortunately, it wasn't exactly stress free.
MY MORNING
Waking up today was a bit of a struggle because I slept very late the previous day (well, to be precise I slept early morning today😜). But I had to force myself to wake up early because I was meant to travel from Aba to Awka and I didn't want to arrive late. Add the fact that I hadn't packed my bags because I was just coming back from another travel I did.
I am not a travel-holic, trust me. 😁
Getting to the park was also a struggle, I tell you. It was raining in my area and everywhere was wet, slippery and annoying. To find a Keke that would take my bags to the park was an issue.
MY AFTERNOON
I finally got to the park by 12 but our bus didn't move until some minutes after 1. Apart from the radio the driver didn't want to turn off,the journey was smooth until we got to the boundary between Imo State and Anambra state.
Some army officers were on the road stopping cars and.... Honestly, I don't even know what they were doing. The next thing I knew, one of them walked to our bus and told us (everyone inside the bus, besides the driver) to come down and start trekking. It wasn't funny at all. Even a woman that was carrying her little baby had to trek. 😐
All through the trekking I was just asking myself what was the point. The annoying thing was that our bus was the only one they did like that all through our time there. They only stopped other buses and cars for few minutes or seconds before allowing them to move. I really don't know why they targeted us because I don't think we or the driver did anything wrong.
We trekked for a while before we were allowed back into the bus.
When we got to Nise, close to Amawbia in Awka where I was supposed to drop, we encounter a holdup that lasted for more than 30 minutes.
MY EVENING
But after all said and done, we arrived safely to my destination. I boarded a Keke that took me home.
My family was happy to have me back after a while, although they were surprised. They had been expecting me earlier because from Aba to Awka was about 3-4 hours. But I arrived by some minutes after 6.
My dinner made my day better. 😋
Thank you for reading through my diary.
My dear, soldiers can be annoying. Anyway, thank God they didn't harm anyone
