THE DAIRY GAME : SENSITIZATION OF PRACTICAL COMPUTER COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL, ABA. | BY - @kingreechy | 20/10/2021.

Good-day my fellow steemians I hope you all are doing great today, you’re welcome to another session of my daily diary and today I will be sharing with us about my COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICE (CDS) on Tuesday under the umbrella of the NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORP in conjunction to the FEDERAL ROAD SAFETY (FRSC) Aba, Abia state.

We the FRSC Corp members always converge every Tuesday of the week for our Community development service by 10:00am. We are basically involved in sensitization (of the proper usage and awareness) of vehicles and road. We could be on the road to assist the FRSC officers in controlling traffic when there is or helping out in emergency issues if the need arise. We also go to schools and sensitize the students on proper road usage and vehicle checklist which is what we did on our last CDS being on Tuesday.

EARLIER IN THE DAY

I woke up at exactly 5am and went for our daily morning devotion, after which I started the chores of the day in order not to be late for the business of the day which is was the community development service.

I left the lodge with the president of the FRSC Corp Members @erinosho so we walked to Aba south LGA together in other to wait for others to meet us at the convergence point. When we were fully gathered at 11:00am, we started started a discussion pertaining our preparation for the sensitization we were about to go for. We all revised out part in the breakdown and by 11:45am we proceeded to the school for the sensitization process.

On our way to the school, we had a lot of discussions amongst ourselves in order to get more familiar with each other especially with the newly registered Corp members. After reaching the school, we entered but waited for the head teachers to make arrangements for the students and corp members to be able with to have their session as proposed.

Meanwhile we settled down as seats were made available to us and we discussed further on how to go about the discussion individually and how to do a video of everybody’s talk sessions and also take photos for the purpose of report writing and feedback to the Local Government Inspector.

SENSITIZATION DISCUSSION

1	We talked about community development services what it meant and why we we do it.
2	We talked about sensitization and the need doing it.
3	We talked about Federal road safety Corp, the meaning, usefulness and our connection with them.
4	We further discussed about the meaning of vehicle checklist and the types of vehicle checklist.
5	I explained the different types of vehicle checklist and broke them down one at a time.
6	We recited the national anthem and the NYSC anthem.
7	I prayed for the students, their parents and school and we closed.

THE IMPACT OF THE SENSITIZATION

Now the students have been thought all about safety precautions and measures needed while on the road and how to remind their parents or transporter about their vehicle checklist.

There were a lot of question and answering sessions which showed that they had all learnt a lot from our explanation and from their answered questions.

CLOSE OF THE MEETING

The meeting came to an end at about 1:15pm. On our way out we were called back by the teachers and we were offered cold soft drinks like “Mirinda, Pepsi and Coke” which we took and showed our appreciation for the kind gesture that had been displayed.

After which we came out of the school gate took some very nice photographs with the head teachers at a very nice spot in the school premises. We exchanged pleasantries afterwards and said our goodbyes before leaving.

IN CONCLUSION

We all had a really great time together and I for sure had a glorious time with everyone one of the school students, teachers and also my fellow corpers. We further took some selfie pictures together as we played, joked and laughed around as we returned back to the Local government for signing and departure and the rest of the day ended in my lodge.
