Introduction

I welcome you friends to a continuation of the story I started about a boy who I called david. This post continues his story. If you want to see the beginning of this story which I published in a previous post, Click Here

In his mind, he was preoccupied with the best strategy to use in order to win the favour of David. Three days after his last visit to the Motherless Babies Home, he was on his way to Lude Community University campus, ostensibly to give his best wishes to the undergraduate student, even when, he, David had only one academic session to complete his studies.

A few years into his studies, and despite the fact that he did not encounter much pressure over his basic needs, he resolved to inquire about his ancestry. Initially he approached the Director of Corporate Services of the Eku Oil Company Limited that offered him the scholarship as part of their Community Social Responsibility initiative. There wasn't much he could do in this circumstance. He however admonished David to go about his self embarked inquiry with cautious optimism.

Furthermore, he informed David that he came to the University campus, primarily to ensure that the underlying principles that berthed the scholarship scheme was meticulously implemented. One of the prominent features in the clauses is that; it was subject to review from time to time, based on the commitments and subsequent performances of the recepients. Within this period, there was a raging legal battle in David's paternal kindred over the sharing formula of the young lad's late father's property by the siblings and extended family.

greed eclipses Honour

It would be recalled that David had been nursing the idea of unravelling the genealogy of his parents. It had started at their annual send forth and inter house sports competitions, during which parents and, or guardians alongside other members of the public were invited to grace the occasion. Owing to the regimented life in the University Community, there wasn't much he could do in that regard. Despite stumbling blocks, David remained focused and determined to unravel the truth about his lineage.

At the Ekwemmadu Motherless Babies Home, he met the Matron. The ever cheerful and jovial lady did not mince words in narrating the story to him, backed up with documents. In addition, the Matron reiterated that David had a noble birth, but should not be demoralised over the unfortunate incident that was the subject of this inquiry. He was encouraged to take solace in the fact that he was making appreciable progress despite obvious hiccups, hence providence favoured him.

To be continued

The essence of this Novel is to realize the importance of not getting distressed over the obstacles that comes to us in life. That, with God, All things are possible. Destiny can be Delayed, but cannot be denied. A proof that there is a supreme being.
