My budget for the week - an estimate of how much I will spend in the next 7 days. A realistic and frugal budget in steem dollars, valued at N1,800 per steem dollar.

This week, on a minimal scale while also factoring in the spiralling inflation, I need the sum of One hundred and seventy six thousand, four hundred N176,400.00 naira.

Broken down per day - N25,200 segmented thus;

As a steemians that engages in regular and tasking cerebral work, there is the need to have quality and balanced diet comprising Breakfast -. Lunch. - Dinner.
Incidentally, I am blessed with a spouse who manages resources well. She understands the right meal for each age group in the homestead at any given time.

Even with the biting inflation that has rendered people's purchasing power prostrate, she can always look or source for alternatives, pocket friendly food items, fruits etc to prepare for the family.

For me in particular, fruits, oats, nuts, vegetables and wheat are favourites. If I have to eat rice, it has to contain beans or plantain, cooked or fried.

For breakfast, my mother had thought us from childhood not to indulge in much consumption of sugar due to it's health implications.

So I ensure there is, on the dinning table a good quality tin of honey. We normally source it from the Bee Hive of the Monastery of the Daughters of Divine Love Convent, Isienu Nsukka, Enugu state

For snacks, I do purchase digestive or crackers biscuit and a bottle of ground nut. My spouse can go for vegetable, fish and Okro for as many times as it is available, then cucumber and water melon sparingly due to it's sugar content.

For my children, they have so much love for rice and fried chicken. They can take it as much as it is also affordable. Every individual and member of my household have our individual choices and preferences, but it has to be narrowed down to be accommodated in the above stated budget estimate.

What's more, indebtedness us equivalent to slavery, so we make budgets, daily, weekly and monthly to factor in realisable resources. Whatever engagement we are primmed to do, especially my humble self, I receive maximum co-operation and encouragement from my entire household.

It is in the light of this that our Food for Thought expectation of Golden Morn, Milo, Rice from steemit as a committed newbie was sorely missed, even among associates who showed initial admiration, even as it ended like a promised brokered in the Lapse of a beautiful Damsel.

However, driven by an abiding faith in Jehovah most high that His own time is the best. As a forward looking steemians, it is hoped the prospects for the future is brighter and promising. After all the management of steemit and her allies in their wisdom have not relented in encouraging me and building the back up capacity to be relevant in the scheme of things.

Budget and budgeting has become very imperative, especially with the economy that is in dire strait and gasping for breadth. This is the outcome of having in positions of public service a bunch of incompetent, corrupt and self serving people.

Each and every one of us has to carry his own destiny in his own hands. The government at the entire levels of local, state and national.

The essence of government is to provide social services, security and infrastructures to the citizenry, but in every indices of assessment, every could glaringly see their failings. The people are made to pass through the values of the shadows of death as a consequence of clueless, inept and government that has no focus, nor clear agenda.

At no place has it impacted so negatively than in the People's livelihoods and welfare respectively.

Because we cannot fold our hands expecting the government to spoon feed us, the people have had to go extra mile in their struggle to eke a living.

Even in an unconducive environment, the citizenry resorted to putting in their thinking cap and creatively engaging in measures to sustain their beloved families with affordable square meals each passing day, take care of education, medicare and even dependent relatives, all from the same over stretched budget.

So the bottom line in life is that despite the beourgening challenges in the family, community and the larger society, the three necessities remain.
