CALL TO SERVICE

Barrister DD had hectic time trying to ward off corrupt men and women who thronged his office, for days, weeks, months on end, seeking one favour or the other, often times in impossible situations.He. pleaded with these characters to adhere to the rules of engagement as laid down by government, rather than consciously trying to compromise him.

Government of the day gave him the assignment and expected him to achieve verifiable result, and he could not afford to fail. This was necessary, he went on, so that when eventually he is relieved of the position, he will go back to his Law Chambers with head high.

He summoned a meeting of the Senior Staff of the Rural Development Agency. To every one he made it clear that his job was defined, warning that he will not tolerate indiscipline in any form from any quarters among other observed vices in the Corporation
Going forward, he urged those who were in the habit of directing people of questionable characters to his official residence to stop it forth with. Serious consequences awaited any one who flouted the directive.

DILIGENCE IN SERVING HUMANITY

Every one who had come in contact with David readily testified to his honesty and commitment to service.
The mere announcement of his appointment on air elicited applause and commendation from across the community and region. People agreed that he was the right man for the job. A square peg in a square hole.
A man of few words, he withdrew from some of the Social Clubs he belonged to enable him concentrate and deliver accordingly.

At such gatherings, several friends, relatives and acquaintances exploited such proximity to pester him for contracts, even where non existed, often times if contracts are awarded to such ones, they will not deliver.

At a point, David confided in one of his friends that after everything, he was enjoying his new assignment, more so it afforded him the rare opportunity to understand the level of greed man exhibited in pursuit of material wealth.
