After my devotions, everyone prepare to travel to Lafia for my brother traditional marriage. As it's has been said that celebrate with those who are celebrating, we all travelled to Lafia very early in order to make everything ready for the traditional marriage of my brother and his wife to be.

Eggon traditional marriage is very beautiful and funny some times it can be so scaring that people always think of the costly nature of the dowry but anything you cherish is worth paying for.

Getting married to Eggon lady demand a traditional food(dish) call Ebekpen be brought as a fulfillment of cultural right. Items involved in paying the dowry are big beans, red oil, black beniseed, malt, beer, Palm wine, goat, chickens. When we arrive lafia around 11am we landed in a house that was arrenged for us to get things set, after cooking all the things that will be used for the traditional marriage we took everything to Lafia in order ease the work for us there.

The traditional food always count in basin so we started mixing the red oil, beans and black beniseed.
We finished mixing everything we put all in basins which gave us the total of 8 basins and half with 4 cooked goats and chicken.
A small plate of the same food is kept for the bride and the groom to taste in partial fulfilment of the cultural acceptance.
When they tasted the foods the Lady and the man were taking in a bike to the bride residence where the food can be presented to the Lady parents for acceptance.

A cultural troops accompanied the bride and the groom to the Lady house with well wishers dancing and matched on to the Lady house.
Well wishers carried everything on theirs head. We danced round the bride compound and later danced in front of her house with the bride and the groom dancing on the bikes.

The bride and the groom were later shoulder up signifying that everything has been paid.
Many well wishers danced around the bride and the groom because without a cultural dance the traditional food will not be accepted.
